    Hi,
I have a one flysky but have not used it yet,
All my others are tactic 2.4 and work good.
Whats going with the 40" Cig and big 37"Pussy Dry dock ?
I ran my shockwave with wing off and I think it was more stable at top speeds,
But it looks better and more scale with it on.
I also move the timing up to 15* on the 4074 2200k from 7.5* and got 5 mph more gps,
And a little cooler temps to.
My P1 KOS with stock outrunner ran better to,
I moved timing up from 15* to 25.25* and got 5 mph more and ran cooler to.
    ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

      Hey Lenny,

A realization came on and I feel that path would be towards gas. I am currently in talks with Jason as we both are taking opposite routes - he came from gas and going more FE, while im doing the opposite. I think its logical that we would be trading some parts.
Once our trade is done, I would be offering my FE stuff for sale - I also thought that maybe I'll give first dibs to our friends here in this thread first before posting my for sale stuff publicly.
No worries, Ill still keep my custom FEs and I still like this thread to flourish to help everyone out with their MGs or other off topic projects.
I wont be making any for sale in this thread, so if anyone is interested in stuff that I would sell is welcome to pm or email. I'll be finishing up with my trade with Jason before I could entertain anybody. He prefers electronics, so most probably the items for sale would be hulls and hardware.

Im very eager to try the 40" cig boat again - all components are in & just need to bondo the hook out from under. Next will definitely be the 37" Cat!

I've got a couple of smaller Castle outrunners coming for that 37" Mardon. Getting right out huh.PITY I can understand though,I tried to unsuccessfully run my MG at a breezy lake the other day.It is just too small for that. And it is a bit of money to build a twin 1717 R42 compared to one gas motor.

Looks like you would need 2 of those standoffs and the suggested stainless bolts.

Good you got the jacket from Dave. Great guy! His new motor mount looks cool too! That's the one I posted earlier with the back ring! The stand-off from ose are nice but I think this is cooler and more robust!

ok, should i still get the rudder from ose? or the whole package from FC?

i'm starting to understand how things fit now on the boat. went to proboat parts section of their website for the MG and took a look at the parts there too, downloaded the manual, and compared it to the images you posted a couple days ago. i just need to get the hull in front of me and look to see where everything is. should be arriving friday

Guys! Please correct me if I'm wrong. I think the rudder assembly that Ed posted from OSE and the rudder assembly I posted from FC are just the same? I think this is also what Mardon used on his Mg but came from r2hobbies. If my observation is correct, then the FC offset bracket will fit? Right?

This is the strudder I got from R2 Hobbies:

They fit exactly the stock mounting holes of MG. Yes, when you receive your MG it would already have mounting holes already drilled with lock nuts inside the transom.
Add your 2 standoffs and you're done!

You can also find this strudder in ebay - very common.

wow, there is a big difference in price between the r2hobbies one and ose. is there a difference in quality? has anyone installed the one from ose?

actually r2hobbies is $20, fc is $40 w/ offset & ose is $60. none of them include the cable

the offset from fc seems more strudy. and what about the build quality of the strudder assembly? are they all using the same grade aluminum? if they hit something in the water which one would sustain the most damage? stuff like that :)

The FC is indeed more sturdier - thats because they had that piece machined. You could too if you have a machine shop nearby.
For most folks, using standoffs works just as well. In my case, I just had a nearby machine shop cut 2 equal lengths of brass tubes and had the ends tapped for 3mm threads.
You can use a plastic bolt at the bottom standoff to connect to the rudder so it shears off when your rudder hits something hard.
I believe Shawn is the best guy who can narrate to you how a rudder could destroy your transom - he does have a thread of it here in ose.

I have had no problems with just a .150 cable but I think a .187 will go into the stuffing tube if you remove the teflon liner.Let me know then I can steer you in the right direction for a good cable/motor coupler as I do have a favorite.
please tell me your favorite motor/coupler, and please tell me what should be done to protect the transom in case something hits the rudder. mardon tells me you're the expert
also, i bought the water jacket for the 1515 from hrc, which tail ring should i use with it?

do you think that whole fc assembly will fit as well as the one you bought from r2? just trying to avoid a trip to the machine shop.

oh, btw, will i also have that gap between the stuffing tube & strut? any way of avoiding that?
