jason's interior looks pretty nice too! is that re-enforced with fiberglass/cf? please show me how.
oh, and does the hull come with pre-drilled holes to mount everything? e.g. how did you mount the motor mount?
Jason's is my best CF laydown yet.So yes it is reinforced. It is wrapped all the way up inside the hull and covers the seam that joins the two halves.I can certainly give you some tips and hints on tools to help you thru.I believe I recall the hull is ready to go and is probably stated on those first few pages of this thread. On Jason's hull I managed to place the motor mount in before the epoxy from the CF cured so it would bond better(first tip).
About the mount, you could use the stock one from Horizon for now but if you flip the boat much the 1515 is kinda heavy to hang off two bolts. That is where the other support comes into play.

          Hi Jerry,
I dont know how popular Tactics are, but Flysky seems to be gathering a lot of storm even after years of its launch. They cost $35 - $50 for a bnew set of TX/RX and each rx costs about $7 shipped. If you recall, I had a $7 Flysky rx that went underwater for 3 weeks. When it was retrieved only that $7 rx survived and the rest like battery, esc and servo were thrashed. I have used that same rx in 2 other boats after that incident without any problems.

Nice looking boat Jerry! Good job! It's rainy in Manila now so bad timing for painting.

Guys, has anyone know if the cf motor mount that you guys cut for your twins will fit my 32" Skunkworks gen 2 cat? it looks like this:

I think the one they use for the ekos fits the skunkworks gen2 cat I'm not sure about the shocker. Do you guys have a template? Also I need to get a small piece of CF about 3mm think for this. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks guys!

BTW, if you have templates for the servo mount, esc mount and battery trays better. Thanks!

Skyman i got the decals made from Monojeff on this site, they are high quality vinyl you can run asis or clearcoat over them, he can make you just about anything at great prices,, PM him if you want something..

Macdon i like the tactics cuz they're rx's dont have external antannas and work well but i was thinking of maybe trying a flysky cuz if they have the short antanna maybe they get alittle better range..

Thanks Tagas i try to do my best on the clearing, i always try to get it as glassy as ican so i dont have to wet sand and polish afterwards,,,..

If you know somebody or a member in your boating club that has a Flysky, try it in your hands, check the feel and ask for any range issues or feedback on the system in general.
In our small club, half of the guys are using Futaba, some flysky and only Stephen uses Spektrum. I do have a flysky because they're cheap and would serve as a good 2nd radio, but I do like how Futaba feels in my hand.

Since you are on that side of the planet, you should talk to Nata2run in Australia. He is capable of making anything you need if you ask nice and probably mention me.

The easiest way to make the templates for twin mounts is with a chunk of cardboard.Just keep trimming till you get the right fit where you want it(angle and such). You should only need to make one but try it on both sides. You should be able to scan that and e-mail it to him to have him make it.
Or at that point you can cut them with a coping saw as I did with mine.Use a metal blade. Can you get CF sheet?I've been making it for some of the guys.

I used Rustolium Automotive clear touchup in a spray can,, ive tryed many others and this is my first one with this paint. Seems alot of the others look great but dont last, like they look great when i first spray them but after afew times in the water and wiping the boat dry you start to see the sanding marks like the clear is wearing off,, so we'll see how this one lasts and its way cheaper than the U-POL that i havent tryed yet and i can get it at the automotive store for like 5 bucks a can...Should be ok i think..

2pl - 3pl. Just the entry level 2.4ghz. Maybe its in the ergonomics of how it sits/feels in your hand - how it feels balanced, etc. Not really a big thing if it doesnt bother you, but for some a good 'feel' is paramount.

I have both futaba 2.4 and flysky 2.4 and think that both are very nice. The futaba is a little more comfortable in my hand but buying receivers at$75 is a bit pricey when you start expanding the fleet! I have 13 boats with 6 futaba rec. And 7 flysky rec. I was pretty skeptical on the flysky but figured $50 would be worth a try. I have gotten both rec wet and the only one that worked after a dunk was my flysky!!!! Now 2 of my buddies that I run with now use flysky's and none of us have had any issues.. Just a small observation....

It seems like we have the same observation..........and apparently even the same experience! Lol!
Its hard to fathom what a $7 rx could do compared to something that is 10x the cost, eh? For every futaba rx you buy, you can get 10 flysky rx that performs flawlessly.
However, even with that you'll still see a lot of futaba users out there!
