That hook will definately be pushing the nose in the water. The motor near the rear is the way to go.You can easily adjust CG with the batteries this way.

P.S. Hope you get feeling better buddy.

Oh yeah, look what came the other day

Hoping to make a good boat to run with the others

On my 36"shockwave the CG is 8 1/2" from the transom,
The cells are about 5 1/2" from the transom.
              The prop is a x446/3.
The outrunners run hotter then inrunners, Like 200f is ok for them.
And timing on my p1 kos is 15* and T600 is 30*, So I hear.
              That CG is about 23.5%
A boat with a hook will still run wet even if the CG is correct and they say its easier to adjust a rear heavy boat than a front heavy one. Gotta fix that hook first, I guess.

so you think the hook is in the hull shape? My Genesis hooks but only at almost full throttle,, do you think my hulls damaged somewhere?? i thought it was my pushrod to the rudder was week and flexes under high speed, maybe.

Jerry,we mean a hook in the hull.Where there is a concave section which will act as trim tabs would.
You're issue could be a weak servo or the tolerances in the rudder.Just ideas to examine.

I have heard of some boat manufacturers that add a slight hook to their design - maybe thats because the design of their hulls are high lift ones, so adding a hook to the hull will lower the bow. I for one prefer just the flat one without hook and just control the bow with either the strut/stinger and trim tabs.
I really had doubts in the T-600 pushing my 40" Cig boat so I instructed my worker to use a thin layup when making my boat. My servo is also a 1/4 scale servo so its mounting was quite big as well - we fiberglass the mount to the hull which somewhat pulled the hull upward a bit to create the hook.

After we get to fix the hook and knowing that the T600 can adequately push the boat - I'll have my worker to add another fiberglass layer inside the hull for reinforcement. Part of the hobby guys - nothing is perfect.
