Hello from Australia!
Ive recently purchased one of these boats from HK and am wanting to know how many of you guys have run the stock motor on 5s and how long did it last? Im only running a HK metal 440 prop that I've sharpened and balanced, at a guess Id say its going close to 60km/h and running temps are in the high 50s to mid 60deg c range highest being 64degC after 5-7mins of running time, I haven't timed it, just guessing, but I do have a temp gun. Curious so see how you guys have gone with 5s. Ive read this thread from start to finish and realize the motor is crap and will be purchasing the HobbyKing 2000kv T4082 asap and running 5s with that and maybe a bigger prop again.
That said... if I can prop up and go 50mph on 4s with the stock motor at safe temp, for now, I will. I have the T120a ESC.
Im finding a lot of water in the hull at the end of a full pack pack run. (300ml or a little more)
Any tips on how to keep the water out guys n gals? I tape the hatch (carefully) and have sealed up around the water hose inlet fitting also I have pressurized the cooling system and there are no leaks.
I want to try a self bailer in the back of each sponson but need to be sure it wont upset the handling first. I would consider looking into doing a latch set up but would really like to see some pics of how others have done it first, not sure how I'd work that one.
Thanks in advance. Tristan.
