yeah I see what your saying, youd think it would break at the join then though if it was the weak point. Could be any one of a thousand things causing it, the fact remains the one piece is stronger. So be it. :)

My experience says take the teflon liner out of the stuffing tube and throw it away. Dependent on the size of the stuffing tube you may have to remove the old tube and install a slightly smaller stuffing tube. Have you found a square drive nut for your square drive shaft?Comment

My reply was a general statement not knowing what size stuffing tube the boat already had installed. But, normally when you find someone that has setup a stuffing tube with a Teflon liner it is a size or so larger than it should be without the Teflon liner. "LOVE6S" comment seems about right to me on the size you should use.
Here is an easy hint to down size your stuffing tube without ripping out the old tube completely. When I started running nitro boats in 1985 I used a Teflon liner and my flex shaft bound with the Teflon liner and ripped the stuffing tube completely out of the boat. An old timer suggested to me that if I was going to race my boat there was always the possibility that my stuffing tube would get damaged and that there was no easy way to repair it in a short two day race event. He suggest that I use a "guide tube" that my real stuffing tube passed through and was soldered to, that would be easy to remove and replace right a the race site. So, you can use the stuffing tube that is already in the boat as a "guide tube"; leave the existing stuffing tube the same length inside the hull (do not extend it past the old tube) and leave about 3/8s - to 1/2" outside the hull. (Dependent on the size of the existing stuffing tube and the new size you want you may have to solder several "guide tube" length pieces together.) The new stuffing tube should be just the next size smaller than the "guide tube" and place a spot of solder on the outside of the boat between the "guide tube" and the stuffing tube and make the necessary bends to the stuffing tube. Once I found out the correct length of stuffing tube need I cut several pieces to that length and I was always ready to replace a stuffing tube in a few minutes.Comment

Opps, I was trying to say ((do not extend it past the old tube), Do not extend the new stuffing tube past the "guide tube" inside of the boat. If you were to extend it past the "guide tube" the stuffing tube can bell at the end and make it almost impossible to remove from the boat.Comment

Sory or not getting back to you sooner.We had to be evacuated from our home.You might have heard about the wild fires in BC.We were smack dab in the middle.We found out that our house burnt to the ground.The police banged on our door and gave us 4 min. too leave.We are still in Vancouver waiting to see if and when we could go back and see if anything is salvageable.
Any way;personally I would go with the 6s 1500 kv motors see if you can get a couple of Leopard motors.You will need two ESC one for each side.There are also some companies;OSE etc. that should handle it.For the esc I would go with 180 amp esc or 120 amp both water cooled.You will need two stingers that are designed for this app.Let me know how you made out. Hi,I didn't see an answer to the problem of the genesis turning hard right at speed ,mine does this ,I'm thinking I didn't get equal weight into the sponsons when repaired and filled ,I changed the servo and rod,relocate batteries ,multiple props ,running one now that dasbota made to help lift the hull,multiple adjustments on the strut ,if I don't slowly bring it up to speed and get the hull up it will suddenly hook hard right and flip or hit the shore ,I'm ready to look for anouther hull to move my hardware to, I've got a twin Zonda and fighter cat that tune very EZ,I just thought I ruined the hull with multiple repairs but when that right sponson touches the boat hooks ,help?Comment

check to see if the hull has been tweeked and one side is lower than the other... will the boat rock when sitting on the table?....
sounds like your driving thru proposing and one sponson comes down first, that sponson digs in and then hooks
if the hull is level and it was mine I would add weight to the opposite sponson across from the repairs...give it a try add weight temporally to the opposite sponson then test it ...and you may have to accept that hull wont be doing WOT speed runsComment
