Just start with a small hole and a long steering rod.I would think right beside the standoff, possibly even into it.You can go on the top or bottom of the rudder arm, depending which works best for aligning with a servo inside. You make the hole bigger in whichever direction straightens out the rod. Then just make the hole big enough for the boot to be glued in.
First build... Cheap boat, lots of power

On my cheaper mod boats I just mount the servo straight to the bottom with epoxy. I rough up the area in the hull and rough up the bottom of the servo and glue her down!!
Heres the good part. When you get your steering rod thru the boot you can put the servo where it wants to be, not where you want and then have to try to align/bend the rod...................works like a charm for me.
Here's a pic of one of my Syma's with the servo mounted to the hull bottom..............been holding fast for a couple years now!Attached FilesNEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE:http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

The tabs or posts as you called them will be exopied to the bottoms of the carbon fiber trays.Sand the areas where the tabs will be glued on the bottom of the trays and the tabs themselves to give a good bonding surface. The tabs are there to keep the tray from being flush with the inner bottom of the hull so you can put velcro straps under and around the battery to keep it in place or you can just place velcro on the trays and ur batts. The other battery tray you can cut to fit ur esc or leave as is and put ur esc and rx on it.You will need to make or purchase a servo mount, stand up or laydown type.Comment

I've taken a couple out before to swap or steal etc...................... All I do is get a large pair of pliers and carefully bend it sideways til it breaks off. Never had it crack a hull........................you can get/make a mount if you like, but i dont see the need for extra cost for your boat as this will work, your call though.NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS??
