I cant find on OSE site a 5mm collet that goes to a .250 flex cable..... Thx Jeff
I never said anything about going to a 1/4" flex, you musta misunderstood me somewhere along the way...

There is NO reason to use a 1/4" cable...

Still about 2 months till open water.

Should I lower the timing? "Y" wind likes higher timing, I guess it was just warmer than my previous set up which was a 4074/2000kv Leopard. Maybe has something to do with my poor driving, I slowed down evertime when turning, there was a heavy lift helicopter 50' right above my head pulling cables from towers , man, talk about distraction!
I am uploading a video, thanks in advance.
From everything I can gather and guys in my club, the Neu 1515 1Y doesn't like a lot of timing. I have mine set as low as I can get it, if I remember right the lowest you can go on a SF is 2 or 3 deg. you can't set it at 0.

OK, thanks, I never knew that, thought "Y" should be "high", will lower it next time.

I don't understand this at all. My 1515/1Y likes 15 degrees all day long for oval racing, and for SAW running I got extra speed with 20 degrees advance. Steve Neu told me personally to run 10-15 degrees with his Y motors. The "club members" ideas make no sense to me at all.

All I know is I was having heating problems and I know I wasn't over proped, I backed the timing up and the heating problem went away.

So that's what open water looks like....

Speed and driving are definitely getting better...must have something to do with my receiver!

You have her humming along quite nicely now.. not riding wet at all...looks nice and stable as well.

                            Thanks for all the input:
I will go over everything, it could be my driving but I need to double check my timing ( thought it was set @15* as I always do with "Y" motors) , also it just occurred to me that on the Leopard motor the water fitting is of a larger dia. variety than the 1515 jacket ( actually a 1512 because I need 50mm). These fittings has internal passages that would benefit if they are all lined up. I forgot to look at the water volume coming out of the loop.

One thing I did this winter was to move the water outlet to the top of the boat vs exiting out the side....it should be easier to now see the water flow....of course I won't be able to tell for another couple of months.

Yup, great idea! Might have to do that, the more I think about the temp issue of yesterday the more I suspect that the flow was somehow restricted.
Too bad the water is open and I haven't the down time to do the modification.
