Thx for the jacket Scott it fits perfect now. Glad I drove down and got to see some boats run. That's a awesome set up you guys have down there. Chris that rescue boat you have is unreal.
Finally got company gone and took the Popeye out on boat with me for a few runs. It kept doing the submarine thing on start up and once it did get on plane it was bouncing badly. I couldn't figure out what was wrong as it ran so good last time I ran it. After coming in from second set of lipos I noticed bottom of boat and remembered during the body work I added a air dam. Bad idea as boat ran horribly. Back home now recharging lipos and gonna head out before sunset with out air dam and try again. Hope it runs better.

Yep that was the problem. Only had a small 3200mah set of lipos I could use but boat ran perfect again. So air dam was the problem. Didn't hit any docks and no gators chased me. Was a good day all in all.....

              Great to hear!
Was the air dam touching the water? My Popeye tends to run wet so I imagine an air dam will starve off the air that's needed to lift the tunnel.

Yes Tim I think air dam was touching water. Most threads I've read said to put air dam about an inch back from front. But because of way Popeye hull is on bottom I had to place it about 3 inches back which seemed to be to far back and boat performed poorly. Glad I removed it and will run it some more tommo. I raised my strut up to its maximum as Doby suggested and anxious to see how it will run now.

I took it out on boat today to run it and got a few videos. My girlfriend shot the vids and did the best she could. Im stilling having a problem with it pulling hard right as Ive yet to get the shim for turn fin correct. Its annoying having to constantly fight the boat pulling right. Other then the pulling to right boat is running smooth and tight to water. THis was first time with strut raised to highest position and I got a top speed of 51mph. I ran two sets of lipos and checked temps after second run and motor was only at 90* but batteries and ESC were 130*. Is that too high for those?....

                  Heres the vids:

interesting about the "pulling" ..neither of my two, or Robert's (LiPo Power) have this issue...and none of our boats have any shims for the turn fin...can you post some close ups of your fin?

Here you go Doby. Any help would be appreciated. If you go back in this thread there's a bunch of posts about the shim. Supposedly sponson isn't 90* to hull or something. I can offset it by trimming rudder but then boat is fighting itself and I lose some speed.

I am certainly no hydro expert for sure but the way u can turn left and right looks pretty good....the turn fin does look slightly turned to the right though...I cant turn at all to the left of curtains ...but think its fixed now...will find out tomorrow if all goes well....

Your pics are good, I think I definitely see in the 1st and 3rd pics, a twist in the turn fin, yet the bracket looks reasonably straight. That twist will cause it to pull, but I don't think it has anything to do with the shim. It looks like the "straight" part of the fin has been bent in towards the hull.

Yes the boat turns well Ron but it pulls hard to the right. As I come out of right hand turns I'm immediately having to ease it to left to get it going straight.

Is it that bad that you can't just trim it out on the radio?

Here's mine... The "straight " part of the fin is actually straight.
