Mines there to help support the fin mounting bracket, the fin is plenty tough.

Ron,
What esc are you using ?Comment

Yes I did notice in pictures you ran them the right way,
That should help give a little more cooling with the add water in the jacket.
Also will help let out any trapped air bubbles in the line and jacket to.Comment

Ron are you using the LV setting or just timing your runs ?Comment

well there seems to be a problem there lenny.....my good batts ran for about 2 and a half min and then the boat slowed down considerably...brought it back to shore and batts were at 3.8 per cell totaling 33 percent left in them..thats more then the 3.2 I have set in the esc for cut off....2 2s packs in series....giant power 5000 ma so I am wondering if the big prop and the nue1515 2200 sucked em down fast....they were very cool though same with esc and motor.....any idears? I just ordered some 6000ma packs a few ago we shell seeMY RETIREMENT PLAN?????.....POWERBALL

The LV on all the Seaking/Turnigy ecs is very touchy,
And kicks in to soon most of the time.
Some one said that those esc sometimes needs to be cycled with the LV on and off a few times,
And than for some reason they will work better.
But I have not tried testing that theory on those esc yet,
So I just run with the LV off and time my runs.
But that is only after I do a few short test runs to see how the packs are doing,
And also check the setup temps to.
I do this because a lot of my packs have low punch out till they get warmed up.Comment

Got to run my Popeye a few times this week. Put the new 2mm UL-1 turn fin on as it's much stiffer. Still having the pulling problem but not as bad. Got a few vids. First one was at a pond and no GPS. Second two vids we're runs from today out in bay by my house. Got 53mph on first run and 51mph on second.
Here are the vids. Lower volume on first one if you don't want to hear my girlfriends yapping dog. Lol. Put music to second two vids cause her barking and whining made vids unbearable to watch...
