Theres always gona be a lil bit of water..unless you have a radio box or and good sealed compnents..the only thing on the EKO that you should worry about mildly getting wet is the reciever which is in a ballon zip tied...I already had a flip over about 150 yds away from shore but it landed upright and kept going...shafts should be checked before every run..only issue is they seem to get stripped when used a few times to have some allen screws handy... I have the 36mm cast alumunium props on 3S 4000mah lipo and trim down a lil and she hauls ass like no other...4S lipo should be the max you use but then again with the bigger props I don't think it would hurt the motors. Maybe if you had stock 32mm plastic ones..metal seems to be heavier yet stronger yet weighs down the motor not to spool up as much...Next is ESC ugrades to 120A 5S on stock motors with a pair of 380 on stand by if they burn up...but honestly the stock motors aren't bad at all and can get a beginner into trouble quickly...also a higher torque servo with more radius cause the stocky sucks once your down to no power trying to get her back too shore she turns.....not at all!!!!

Just curious if anyone is running like a 380 10L or 12L or like a ammo 28-45 2700kv? I'm getting impatient waiting for aquacrafts cat and the thought of taking the ekos plunge crossed my mind (plus I really like it's on twins), but the motors would be gone ASAP. Basically my question is what would be the best upgraded motor for this beautfiul cat?Comment

I will be shipping factory size flex shafts by late next week.
I am also making couplers now to fit that unit but with 4 set screws on the cable and 6/32 not little 4/40 set screws.
Also, I will have bullet nuts and drive dogs for them but they could be a little later.
The cables are on my page now but couplers are coming.Comment

Looks very good. What do you think the benefit of running a xl is going to be? Are you running stock esc's? Sorry for so many questions, just starting to get more curious about this boat.Comment

Much longer motor, more torque, should run a little cooler on 4s and put me over the 50mph mark. I have read the 380xl's are comparable to the 540s.Comment

I ran 49.2 mph yesterday on 4s with a pair of cf40's. Just made a couple of quick passes.(I know these props are too big) Hoping the 540xl's might spin these props though. Oh yeah, I switched esc's to a pair of turnigy 120's.Comment

Cool, thanks for all the info. Good luck on breaking 50, your kncoking on the door.Comment

I should be shipping this week if anyone needs cables. Also, I am making stock size couplers but with 4 screws on the cable and 2 on the shaft. Also the set screws are bigger.
Couplers will be on my site this evening and will probably just make a new page for this boat.
They should hold it all together. Also, make sure there is room at the drive dog because the cable will tighten and actaully pull the cable out of the coupler.Comment

hence the spacers...but thanks gona order all that from you after easter weekend...by any chance is it really needed to have the plastic tubes that the shafts go into the strut or could you run with out them...and the spacer on the dog gear I hear most don't even run with them really...what do you think....? If so I'll be ordering these from venom and some plastic props...again this boat is way fun even in the ocean where I run and it runs like the real thing too out there on the water...wish I had taken a video...Comment

So I lost the same flex shaft again...going nuts over this boat..can't get 3 full runs with out losing something...I think I'll be getting aquacraft cat too if its put together well...this is nonsense. And the couplers cause the set screws where still tight...so expect my order for two sets of shafts in the coming week there Jeff also lost an aluminum prop so there goes money down the drain...best to stick with plastics if this happens all the time...sorry but I'm not too happy with the boat and should have came single like the gas version...seems to me I'd rather have a gas cut out than loose parts all the time....so back on the shelf the KOS goes..serious bummer cause I love how this cat runs.....at least when its running for the most part...

I had so many orders for this stuff. Germany folks ordered a bunch and I was waiting for more drivedogs.
Now I just got more shafts and cables in. I had no idea they sold this many boats and had those problems.Comment
