shoot the max speed 0'd out at the beginning, some of the old school gassers/radar users think we drive em on the highway before we shoot the vid... idiots
No I didnt. I wasted everyone's time by posting a picture of my GPS showing it, along with a video of the run, but since the video didnt show the GPS, Im full of *!***!***!***!** and my boat, nor will any EKOS do 40mph... According to the critics...
Personally, I thot your reports were good and well within reason. GPS is a good tool, but guys fixated on a pic of a wet gps in a wet steaming boat is a bit much at times. It's getting a little carried away on the "other forum". Keep up the interesting tests. I appreciate them.
Well its good find at least someone who appreciates my efforts and believes in the honor system..
Yup, I'm old fashioned ( and old too ) Pretty new to FE but I find nothing out of line with your claims. We need to use a bit of common sense at times. Now, if you whipped up a one way at say 62.5, maybe I'd have to have a cold one and think about it !!

Reason: spelling
Not being silent... but I did not plan to keep them. A buddy has one and ran 4s each and ran approx 40 mph with stock props.
I think the quality is very good. Sure it needs some tweaks but that is what we do. I do not have one to play with but should not be hard to be able to bump it up. This is pretty heavy boat.
Motors need to turn rpms. CG needs to be brought back a bit. So far the ESCs are proving to be pretty damn tough.
But, I do not see water leaking inside or cracks in the hull.
Give them some time...other boards are saying pretty positve things about them. We typically expect so much more than others looking for nice scale boats.

I agree Jeff, the reason for this is, we know a bit more then "the others" and know what to expect of a nice setup.
IMO, of course.
If we didn't know anything about boats,, we'd think it's the greatest hull ever...

Thanks for the update Jeff..
I do have a question, what is the size of the stock props, and are they 3/16th shafts?
Thanks, mine should be here next weds!
Venom lists 2 sizes of props for the EKOS (32mm/1.4” pitch and 36mm/1.4” pitch). Not sure why they intermix mm and inches. Mine came with the 36. They are 4mm, but you can shim the shaft up to 3/16 like NitroVal did.
I have a few runs on mine now, on Max Amps 4000mah 3s 40c packs and it runs great. Of course I'm not running the big numbers, but it handles great, and is loads of fun. I'd guess I'm nearing the 30mph mark. The only things I've done is move the rudder pushrod under the arm on the rudder and adjust the drives up a hair. But all in all a great boat imo.

Its been a standard in the industry. 36mm = 1.417 in. If you look at Octura props they have it described as X440/3 for example so its a 1.4 pitch 40mm prop and X is the style and it has 3 blades. Others express it in all mm or all inches. You can change the pitch to 36mm and express it as 36X36/3 for the prop description.
