    Tools

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXL462&P=ML I use the ball ended allen wrenches and I made a special tool out of a micro ratchet for 1/4 hex bits and took a #25 torx bit and ground it into a 2.5mm hex. This allows about 4 to 6 clicks of the micro ratchet good for breaking it loose and for final tightness. To start the screws I put them into a chunk of small fuel or water hose, put them in the hole and once the threads are started I spin the hose until the screw is tight and the hose falls off all by itself.

Funny, I am doing the same with the 442's. Having them de-tounged to decrease motor load. The cf-40's are awesome on the 9xl's with 4s. But the 9xl needs a bit bigger prop to get the speed. I loved the 32mm venom props when I had my ammo 2700's in the ekos. But it was a much shorter can than the feigao xl and not as much torque, so the little props really allowed the 2700's to reach their potential. I think you will like the cf-40's on 3s. I used them on my ammo motors on 3s and got about 37mph with them. I'm sure your 8xl's will push the same props into the lower 40's. The only thing I dont like about the cf-40's is that the hub of the prop is slightly larger than the drive dog and stinger, so they aren't streamline with the stinger and drive dog. You'll see what I mean when you put them on. It doesn't seem to affect the performance though. But that is why I am trying out the de-tounged x442's. Overall I like the performance of a 2-blade prop over a 3-blade. You can get away with a larger diameter 2-blade because they load the motors less than a 3, and I think they balance better and have less resistance through the water. Thats my 2-cents!!

        Props.

Thanks for the great info,I will order a set of x442s when they come back in stock.I will try to get one of the shops to service the props for me.I just got my data logger today and I will test it on my big helicopter today before I install all the parts in the EKOS.I have been getting away with a 18amp ESC on a 20amp motor for months and I will finally see what amp load I am drawing. The Eagle tree stuff is tiny and light, with gps and all the sensors it probably weighs about an ounce.Hope it works good.

Take a look on the forum under products and services for username "eggneg" He provides excellent prop service at a reasonable price. If you want a nice set of props, he is the guy! He can also de-tounge your 442's to reduce motor load. I had him sharpen/balance/polish a couple of props for me and they are awesome!

Not sure...I need your real name. I did add the select feature on the ekos page now on my site so folks can make a choice.

Is there a Feigao or Ammo brushless that is a good replacement motor using the stock venom 60a ESC's? If so would you be so kind as to post links? Thanks for all the help.

Feigao 380-10L, or ammo 28-45-2700. The feigao is on ose's site, and the ammo's are on e-bay. Both will work with the stock esc's.

8l? That's a whole lot of KV, maybe a 10l. 9xl prob the best choice for stock 60amps. I don't own the boat though so i maybe wrong lol...

Thanks Forescott. How do the ammo 28-45-2700 compare to the stock Venom motors, are they faster?

Oh and what cooling jackets do you use with those Ammo motors?
