Im sure in behalf of Tagasagwan, we truly appreciate each & everyone's input in this thread - hopefully it also helps out even lurkers who happens to stumble in here. Comments, suggestions & ideas are always welcome, so feel free to do so.
Being in Manila, we could easily get hobby stuff from both china/hk and shipping costs isnt bad at all! However, with the MG - I envisioned a bit higher in quality thus I was looking into the 1515/1y motor. I never had a CC motor before, so maybe this would be a perfect time to try one?
But CC motors are indeed pricey - so Tag and I are looking in the secondary market as well. We are also entertaining other alternatives if any so we wanted to hear from you guys about their performance, etc.
Our club here in Manila is basically just a bunch of guys enjoying the hobby and we dont have any sanctioning bodies like what you guys have in the US. We seldom race, but everyone is obsessed with speed and performance, so while it just boils down to "bashing around" - we run as if we're in an organized race hehehe!
The biggest motor I currently have is a 3674 Turnigy 4-pole 2200kv which I bought for $40ish thru HK - it is the motor that I used to power my 29" Bugatti boat in my avatar.
Im looking into a 40mm motor - maybe a 4074 or 4082 for the MG but I believe I also need to hike my esc to 180a as the ones I have are only 120a. HK sells the 180a for $77 - but out of stock at the moment.
I recently embarked on my first gas boat project, so funds for the 'electrics' have been diverted a bit but good deals that could be used for the MG will always be welcome!
