Yea been pretty busy with the house and my truck (been doing some mods exhaust, headers, camshaft, gears). I got 4050's for it. Probably should have got 4040's instead tho. These things are kinda big and heavy. O well. It's just gonna go faster that's all.

hello my name is dallas i just bougt a zelo 36.i currently have a 48 zelo with a 12s esc and cap pac with a custom hand wound lehner 23 hp motor in it with a custom prop.according to lehenr and steves speed caculator this single prop should run 154 mph but i have not had it out yet.i even matched all the water lines with orange and put in a futaba receicer for my 4pks-r radio.if you like i can send pics.now i just got my 36 today and stripped everything out of it.i the motors were custom made one of first ever made boat motors made by jose cordova at cordova research for if you know they hold all the speed records in speed run cars which i also build.the one car i just finished a mugen mrx6 on 12s ran 173 first pass on low gearing and i have 4 speed run cars a 1/5 scale electric fg conversion also with a lehner 3060 motor.size of a can of coke.but anyway i have two 8s esc so each motor will run on 8s and the cordova motors are 1440 so the motors r 4inchs long and for both cost me 1000 dollars but each one will produce 12 hp at 87 000 rpm.when i told stevve at offshore it blew his mind he did even know what prop to start me on.so i am just letting u know a twin 8s for a total of 16s 36 is being built as we speak and each mototr running on 8 s will be upward of close to 3000kv.i was asked not to tell exact amout but this this is going to be retardly crazy and cant wait to post pics and a build thread but because i am new it wont let me post or do anything so i thought i could tell u and maybe u can copy and paste this fornow until the mods let me start posting.well thanks a bunch and hope to have pics up soon it hould be a beast.according to the offshore speed calculator it should do 197 mph and i know i know thats ina perfect world so i am not saying it will do that but it says it has the power,,rpm and prop to do it.once again thank andwill chat soon. i want to go after the single prop world recod with my 48 zelos and the duel with my 36 inch.wish me luck.i will need it.lol

Lot of hype however Cordova motors look very interesting!!

I came across them a while back on YouTube. They look cool. Same basic design and build as a tp power and neu. I think they are a touch smaller diameter than a standard neu (1.4" diameter vs 1.5" diameter for the 15 series neu). I guess they are 36mm cans? I think they are a little cheaper than a neu also.

3 day weekend and I got my new battery's to start my mods. Im shooting for 65-70 on stock props (Im still waiting for the x447 to come back in stock) any ideas for mods to try, I'm going to sharpen the rudder, try some timing and strut tinning.

Well i seen castles factory and compared a motor that was completed without the can and the cordova and the winds on caslte were absolutely poor qualty.the space between the winds was unreal.on the cordova the wires u couldnt even see the light of day through.U CANT EVEN COmpare castle to cordova.by the way.cordova makes the neu motors so i just thought i would throw that in there and they also make a few other companies motors a jfyi!!! The cordova can on this motor is actualyy 1.57 inches also and 4 .4 inches long and for raw power nothing ever comes close even neu.AS FOR neu they dont even offer a neu 1440 motor with my kv that is 8s capable.my is totally a custom one off design just to go after the record with.it is made by jose for me and said he would not duplicate for anyone else.you cant even compare.just my 02. !

Lots of unsubstantiated hype in this thread. 12 horsepower = 9000 watts...that's over 300 amps per motor. What ESC will stand that for very long? Might work okay in a geared car (or a boat for SAW-type runs) but of course the guy has no SAW experience and doesn't know much about that facet of the sport. Sounds like most car guys do when first entering FE - they think they know it all until they start burning things up right and left. And Darin's post is spot on.

Hey, the guy has 2 posts, no FE cred and his claims sound like total BS. But I don't know that, he may be entirely legit. He can prove it by supplying some proof of his car speed records, video of the Castle factory, someone to vouch for his claims, etc. Or he can continue to post self-promoting hyperbole. I really don't care.

I dont think i will be setting the world on fire with 4 9000's, but im am interested in the run time. the i beleve they are about 2+lbs more then a set of 5000's.
