Here is a example I made to help people that get confused on the way (L) and (R) shafts work.
Your illustration for the cables is right if the props are turning outward. It's the reverse if you have them turning inward fyi. I don't know what way the factory has the props spinning but I have them spinning inward

Yes those pictures are incorrect, the first pic is correct. If you run as in the second picture the flexes will unwind ruining the flexes

I went and checked again and your right, it tightens if pointed up ( so I didn't f up and get it wrong like I thought I did to ruin shaft) checked my gas 1/4 cable, and sure enough it spins up, well OSE has it all wrong then, I didn't tag the shaft in this photo, both spin counter clockwise , it came as in R - Lthumbnail_IMG_1649[2].jpg

Question, I know about 3 phase motors and that by switching 2 of the 3 wires, reverses the motor rotation, I understand same goes in this case, question is can it be any of the 3 wires, like in 3 phase?

I'm more confused than anything when it comes to this now. So Lucas first photo labeled as incorrect was the correct way?

Yes, if you want to run your props turning inwards then the first photo is the correct way.

I know I'm a little late to the party but I just started reading this thread. Can you post a picture of your sharpened rudder? I just purchased this boat and would like to do some of the mods but I would like to see one before I Bucher my rudder lol.

image.jpg Nothing special, just put an edge on it. Use an old file so you dont plug up a good one.
