Not sure I'd waste my money on them at this point. While they look cool as being a billet (looking?) can, I've seen a few failures and if there not that many out yet and pretty new to the game then that doesn't look good so far in terms of reliability at this point. And not to mention this was in speed run cars which don't pose near the load a boat motor has to deal with. I predict the use of one will end up being a nice paperweight in short order when put through the paces in a boat. I'd wait till they are a little more main stream and let the kinks get worked out first. Just throwing my .02 out there. I'll personally stick with what I know for now. At this point it's hard to beat a tp power motor for the money. I've personally not had a failure myself. My buddy did but he was over spinning it on purpose to see what it would take. After making several 100+ mph passes on 8s in a genesis with 1720kv, he found out it doesn't like to spin 55k rpm on a daily basis. Lol

What do you guys think of this idea to scoop more water into the inlets on the bottom of the hull? They are push rod exit covers I had lying around from my rc plane days. Epoxy them over the stock inlet tubes. Not sure if they would stay on or get ripped off. Or create too much dragComment

Lolhaters they just cant shut there mouths.no matter what i post this guy always comes and has to cut up what i say.do all you people out there notice that.i dont constantly on his posts come and cut him up but i guess when you are jealous thats what people do but to the rest of you thanks for looking as i will start this build as soon as i get it back from the hydro dippers.as for the cordova motor they pretty much are in all the cars that hold all the speed records but i assume they are junk and tp is better yet they are in none and if you know speed runs and raw steel well i dont have to go any futher in fact i own several of these motors including a 2000kv and it runs on 12s and it still runs perfect to this day so i guess i just like to waste money and i guess raw steele does also.in simply terms this guy is hating on me and if thats what he wants to do fine but from here on in when i post and he jumos in and cuts me up(like i will know he will do again as soon as i post more results as my build goes along) i will just ignore it as i have kids and dont have time for them on here so once again thanks to all who liked the looks of my new boat and i cant wait to start building it with twin 8s power and these motors and custom props etc!

On a side note I wanted to say your boat looks pretty sweet with that dip. (No sarcasm intended). And I can't wait till you get it running and try 8s on 2900kv because your going to be humbled quite quickly. I suspect you'll have a different outlook on what it takes to make a boat go fast because I hate to break the news to you, it's not just adding a bunch of power to it and thinks it's just going to go faster. So I wait patiently to see the day when you realize that. If your any kind of decent person you will end up coming back here, admitting that and calming down a little with your claims. I've seen many just like you come and go. Let's see which kind you are.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Sorry to hear you're a bad parent? Seriously, you need thicker internet skin. You're easily riled up by just about any comment, and your responses come across as immature, which only fuels the fire for those who don't share your point of view (haterz).Vac-U-Tug Jr (13mph)Comment

so i decided to do so,ething different so i decided to get the zelos hydro dipped in gold carbon fiber with several coats of clear.it actually turned out really well.plus my properlly sized water jackets are finally done so now the fun begins as it is now time to engineer my build.thanks for looking!Comment

You would be surprised how much water volume you can get from the stock inlets. Im standing firm on the y splitters, y split as it enters the hull, y split back out to the outlets. Feeding cold water to both the motors and ESCs independently is a huge upgrade. Then teardrop the inlets and you're set.Comment

This thread is something else, entertaining.. If you're going to try some crazy stuff then good luck to you. Getting defensive at the drop of a hat will only make the nest swarm you with relentless stings. Build it, smash it, burn it or love it..... Great!... We love this forum for its multiple angles of knowledge, successes and failures. Hope things calm down and we can all learn something.Comment

actually i do plan to build it.still at the hydro dippers thats 3 hours away and he just put on the 5th and last coat of clear so hopefully it will be dropped off today and yes i will then start building it to answer your question in a nice happy and mature way but it wont be in no week.i am a engineer and i plan to do the best planning and placement of everything and part i can on this boat so more like it will be done in 3-4 weeks but it wiil be started as soon as i do get it back in my posession.have a nice day!:Peace_SignComment

Wow, so the water will still get in there even with it sanded flat? I would have never guessed that . I would think it needed something sticking down to direct it in the pick up tube especially since its epoxied in there perpendicular to the bottom of the hull pad. Thanks to all that responded, No scoop for me. Just an idea I thought I'd throw in the mix. I'm a beginner at this so I'm still learning.Comment

Question for those running the x447 (balanced & sharpened) on the Zelos. Did you drop the timing down one step to 3? Is this prop better suited for short speed runs only or can you use it for speed runs and messing around on the lake. I saw a post on another site where Rafael recommended dropping the timing one step with bigger propsComment
