Thanks to everyone. The motor temps never went over 110 degrees and that was on a hot and humid day. During a mid 70 day, I will be around 90/92 degrees on the motor. The caps are about 120 and the battery's are around 95 degrees. On a hot humid day the battery's will hit 115/119 degrees.

Steve, I understand the idea of running four battery's with the chance of one or more not having the same rate. When I run four packs at the same time, they are all the same brand and size and also bought at the same time. I am thinking that buying them at the same time would be an easy way to monitor the usage.

If can find the ideal combo (Steve's suggestion) I may invest in the batteries.

Great idea to run the battery's in a different configuration to change the voltage. Make a few different harnesses to try.

That part number designates the hull and hardware (ARR) model, not the RTR.

I am thinking about getting a Atomik ARC 58in ARR, and was looking for some suggestions on a good motor / ESC combo to get and any other replacement parts I should think of ordering.
Not going to be racing, looking for longer run times, and need some advice on LIPOS, 4S, etc.
          Thanks

Twisted, for 6s application which kv motor do you recommend?
I was also reading about using different steering linkage, which one shouts I opt for?
Anything else that needs to be changed on this boat?
                Thanks

1690kv to 1800kv Alot of that depends on the motor being used. look for a motor that makes power without a lot of heat. These motors are more efficient. Neu, TP Power and I like the SSS line from horracing.

No more than the 1130kv version of the tp motor. Stock motor is 1100kv. Runs low 40's on 6s. 17-1800kv is too much for this hull. A motor of that much kv won't be able to spin a prop big enough to get the big arc on plane without creating some serious amp draw and possibly burning up your esc. Read the Venom section of the forum under venom Q&A. Theres a couple threads in there with some good info and also a guy running a motor similar to the tp power motor around 1100kv on 6s with the stock esc and prop getting mid 50's. I think his setup is the biggest bang for the buck. If your ok with low to mid forties you can pick up the turnigy 1100kv out runner and a seeking/turnigy esc from hobby king for about $150. You can run a 5000+ capacity single 6s pack in front of the motor or a pair of similar 3s packs in the sponsons. If your planning on running the tp motor I suggest using lips that have a high discharge or c-rating of 40+. I run a single 5800mah 6s 25c pack with the stock out runner and it works just fine.

Im looking forward to your info Bill, I have this hull in the ARR version and need to find something that I can run in it. 8 cell would be nice, that way I could use the lipo's in other projects as well.
I hope to get this boat up and running soon because we should see some open water up here in about 3 months from now

That is all true. I use sss5694 1200kv on 8s using 2 motors, 2 esc, 2 props that are 1755/3 counter rotating, to move a boat this size. I will be using 2 Castle 1717 motors on 8s in my 42" cat this summer. That should be a sight!
I run a 1717 in my XBE Redcat on 8s. I like it alot. I will mostly be on 6s but I will be on 8s just to see the thing rip. The props will be cnc 5017/2 and also some others that I have laying around.
