    If you did this,

    Quote.
I ran the boat with a total of 12s. Two battery's on each side in series - then parallel both sides for a total of 12s.

Than you were still just running on 6s,
    Not 12s.
But you had 12000mah on hand for longer run time and better amps for the setup.

Got it. My typo. I am connecting each side in series for the total of 12s.
Only time there is a 6s power source would be when I am using two battery's.

As Lenny stated this is 6s2p - 6s is the 2 in series and 2p is the 2 sets in parallel, not 12s.

Is the esc rated for 12s?

I have it wired for 12s. I may have wrote it incorrectly. The ESC can handle 12s. I have ran four or five sets through it without a problem. The original ESC was a 120a which was upgraded to 180a.

The battery's are parallel on each side and then into series to equal 12s. :-)

                  Oscarel,
It is a stock 120a or 180a esc and rated at 6s max,

And this guy for a Atomik representative, BILL OXIDEAN.

It is the blind leading the blind.

Lets see a video, or pictures of how you have it wired?

Stock was 120a, Now ATOMIK has the 180a in all there kits.
The end result is that the boat is setup for 12s. each pair of battery's on each side are in parallel - connected together in series to equal 12s. With this setup I have ran a few packs through. The caps on the ESC were at 115 to 120 degrees after a 4 minute run. Motor temp was always below 100 with the battery's at 120.

3s batteries paralleled are still 3s. now run them in series with another bank of 3s in in parallel, you get 6s. And no, Atomik did not supply your boat with a 12s esc.

Is it wired something like this? The 180 esc is only rated for 6s and it looks just like the T180 but costs $160!
And if you truely hooked them up as 12s the caps would be in orbit by now!
