You really need to understand what's going on. You're going to tell someone you have 12s and they're going to hook theirs up and fry their equipment and possibly get hurt. And 12S will scare the s**t out of you when you hook it up without spark suppression.

      Confused? Nope.
If I had this setup for 22s - I would be writing this searching for parts.
Atomik made the switch from 120a to 180a ESC last year. I received one of the kits that did not receive the 180a. While waiting for the 180a, I was using my 200a for the time being.
Simply set up. Battery packs on each side are set up in a parallel configuration. Connecting each side together (starboard and port side) will equal 12s for the goal of longer run times and a little more power then running two 3s battery's in series.
I will have a picture in a few.

The only way you can get 12S from 4-3s is to have them all hooked in series. 2 in series is 6s, 3 in series is 9s, 4 in series is 12s. Any paralleling does not add the voltage.

Just because you have twelve cells in a boat does not mean it is running on 12 s, that may be the confusion. ,

They already did that and some one did get hurt.

Lol,,,, maybe this will help explain,,

                  12s voltage (nominal ) is 44.4 volts

                  6s voltage is 22.2 volts

The t180 is. 6s esc rated for 22.2 volts. If you ever plug in 12s the last connection is a pretty loud snap, compared to 6s that may be noticed by someone at the same table. The sound of 12s will get the attention of the whole room. I'm positive if you plug 12s (44.4 volts) into a t180 it will stop working and may even smoke immediately. (You can run 7s on them but have to know what you are doing). I think the best thing is to just wright down parallel and series and make your diagram, comprehend the definitions and re-look at what you have said. Everyone is trying to steer you into the correct direction as 12s voltage is capable of hurting someone (not killing as no human has died from under 50 volts, recorded) but can hurt pretty bad. So people are trying to make it known that you are not using 12s (twelve lipo cells wired in series equating to a nominal voltage of 44.4 volts) I think you are trying to identify 6s2p referring to six lipo cells in series and another six lipo cells wired in parallel. That will effectively combine the amperage (mah) to be added to each other but will still retain the nominal voltage of 6s or 22.2 volts. All at the same time of having 12 (twelve) lipo cells in your boat-but not running on 12 cell combined voltage. ??? Right??? It's a little confusing but once understood becomes very simple and effective explanation of voltage and amperage storage devices (batteries)

Yes Lenny. It's definitely an eye opener!!! That sounds like a .22 going off!!! For me, I may be crazy but I like to hear that snap!!! Only thing I have in hv is 10s. But just for the crazy electric boat guy,, for the people around that can't believe they are just electric toys,, I want to have some run on 12s so when I plug them in I get that respect from onlookers thinking I'm hooking up some death ray that their is no way their kid is getting in the water with that thing !!!! Lol!!!!

Got me. I am laying under my Mustang installing the transmission while writing on this thread. My head is not focused on the boat. Reading back what I wrote, swear I was in drugs. Would have made more sense if I was drinking. LOL I have a total of 6s. Each side is parallel. This is very entertaining for those reading. I am leaving for Kentucky to go racing Wednesday morning at 4am. I am behind schedule. I will post a picture of the set up when I have time.

No worries, I was just afraid of the next guy reading and saying 12S was ok and wham! But as Lenny pointed out someone already has maybe.

Sorry for the mistake. My head is somewhere else right now. Do not try this at home. LOL 6s is the max I am using.

Yes DK535 or aka sparky now got very lucky with just third degree burns,
Because of the malfunction in the helmet and lack of knowledge on this stuff.

Well good luck with that endeavor,
Must have been a malfunction in the helmet on 6s like I said.

When that incident happened, I was holding the bind button down. When it popped, I did not let go - just closed my eyes. LOL

All good here. More concerned about having my transmission in so it will not fall out or fail at 150mph. LOL
I use Traxxas connectors, unlikely I will have crispy fingers. :-)
