More kv equals lower impedance/higher current draw and higher theoretical unloaded RPM. It does not equal more speed.

You mean lower KV motors are faster or is it better to get high KV motor with a big esc?

What happened to the guy that finally got his zonda, did the "zonda fever" kill him? He hasn't posted back since! Kidding aside, good luck with your builds. Really do your research before you spend your money. Twisted had some good advice in his posts, copy cats to the back of the bus!

You should read my post. I'm fairly new as well. not to the hooby but to boats. My work is different because I like to design things and that is why you see a lot of changes in my build and in the zonda witch by the way is my first new boat. I have a used boat that I had about 2 weeks before buying a new boat. Like you I wanted fast right out of the box. I'm still on that same boat. I do have other rc's that are very fast and have raced rc's as well. The guys here that can help you are really into speed as well. and can help. I like how your doing it. Others my not. It's your Dime and time. I will say this in all the builds and things that I have made in my life I try to KISS everything that I do. Oh KISS means KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!

Ask alot of these boat builder how much there boat weigh. They bling the insides of the boat so that another 5 pounds is involved. Then when it catches air that 5 pounds doesn't look so good.

I'm not familiar with these boat builders that add 5lbs of bling. You should name who you're taking about when you say things like that. I don't know anyone who does that. Most of the builds I see that have a lot of unnecessary weight added aren't what I would call "bling".

Have u seen any race's, like Zonda vs Genesis? I sure would love to see that!
I plan to use swordfish or castle esc for my build. l will order carbon fiber sheet for hull and start strengthing all my hulls.

Is Y wind faster or better than D wind? That is the question.

These 41'', reinforced, 90+ MPH Fantasms (Zondas) I built, weight in under 10lbs.....so half of that must be the "Bling"

I know that there are people that are keeping the hulls light weight. And they light weight. I didn't say every one or even most. I said it to beware of these type of builds. There are ways of building a fast light and stand up to wrecks. You get that right and you have something. I have a 17' 6'' foot honey comb glass hydo that I have been playing with and it has a lot of what I'm talking about. I sold my bass boat last fall and it was fast as well. it had something that rc doesn't have a hydraulic jack plate. There are fast boats, and there are simple easy to use. And fast boats like the bass boat is a complex fast boat, the hydroplane/ pickle-fork is simple and light.
