That's why the big change has been to Out-Rigger style of hull's . In Dragboat racing it's the three hop rule . Three hop's on the water at speed and it's a yard sale for the hull . And they have very little steering. At lot of boat control is related to twin prop's drive and how the boat takes a set in at the hit. Torque of drives and engine, get's the hull leaning a bit. And one prop will get to riding on surface and start to turn hull a little bit. And good run will turn in to bad run very quick. I still think the standard DragBoat Hull is the best looking.

When You say "standard DragBoat hull is the best looking" which hull design are you referring too ?
I got the rudder installed today, decided to go with a push/pull using 4-40 rod. I'm going to tube it, to eliminate most of the flexing that could happen. Along with using a std size, hi torq digital servo this should keep the rudder control very solid. I'm not looking for steering, I want no unwanted rudder movement..Attached FilesTunnels-PS295. Randy & Chris, I'm going to do several series of pics so you guys can get an idea of whats going to be needed for that hatch..somehow they 1 & 2 swapped positions, but you get the idea. Pic 4 is the lip that cowl pc from pic 1 sets on pic 5 is total length of open area without the pc from pic 1. When all pcs are in place the longest open area is 11.5" There is a lip that we could put some weatherstripping on to seal and help support the hatch...Tunnels-PS295. Even though this is the toughest cf hull I've come across I think this arch is the one weak point, it and the hatch pc towards transom need to be strengthened. Maybe we could use something incorporated onto the hatch.... the lip in 2 is .5" ....the lip at transom is .5" and its slightly curved and unlike the side lip its not at a 90 its angle at more of a 45...Tunnels-PS295. Shawn, yes it is a nice open access to most of the hull. The only area I had probs with was putting an aluminum doublers in the sponson heels area and thats just cuz my big mitts dont flex so well...
Chris, yes the more I looked and measured the easier it started appearing...good idea on the battery location, but also I was thinking for me doing a single. Would be make it so I could adjust them front to back and side to side. I am planning on using 4 4S so I can fit them easier and have all that to adjust for the torque and to level out during the launch...
I am trying to keep it all balanced neatly. I still have to calculate the weight of my wing and dragchute, thats 2-3 more mini servos plus hardware...Tunnels-PS295. Guys need some suggestions here...as I had previously mentioned. This hull is offset, should I mount my strut to the center of the transom or the center of the tub ? There is approximately a 3/8 difference between the 2. Then do I still center my motor to the strut or offset it ? The more I think about this, I also think I should put my rudder on the opposite side of the transom than I got it now. I'm "thinking" this might help on the torque roll some and I would rather have my rudder lifting a bit than digging in.Tunnels-PS295. Cats-H&M M1 Supercat Daytona rivercat. If I'm understanding you right, I'd center it on the transom and that would make it offset in the tub. Then line the motor with the strut, this way everything is offset. Am I right?Comment

I am not sure here myself. Maybe my brain isnt picking up on this right.....Tunnels-PS295. Cats-H&M M1 Supercat Daytona rivercat. Monos-DF Cyberstorm HiTech 29. Sorry guys, Xmas party last night and it was late.
I was thinking the strut offset toward starboard and the motor either in center of tub or even a little port side. I did this on my little rigger years back and it did really help keep the port side sponson down on takeoff. A problem I am currently having with my red rigger.Comment

Ok, so the stuffing tube would run looking towards bow from transom, right to left. So since this hull is offset then I would center the strut to the tub, that would make it offset to the starboard (right) Then center the motor to the transom, that would offset it to the port (left). That actually does make sense now. Then set my rudder to the Port side too. Now, you would mount the motor on a slight angle to match the offset.now I get it !!! tks Shawn.... DJ
