      Looking good DJ.
It certainly is going to be s tough hull. As it needs to be for all that power.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Tks Paul, I dont think its going to have any strength issues. Working on getting a bit more of that 2 part foam you turned me onto into a little more of the sponsons. I think more than anything since this hull is designed to be run with the back open, that making sure it has enough buoyancy/flotation is the only concern now. Plenty of room to tuck in a good amount of poolnoodle though....

DJ, are you planing on running it with the back open? I'm deffinetly going to build a hatch of some kind for mine, Too much $ in electronics stuffed back there to run it open I don't care how good I think I have it waterproofed.

No, I'm going to cover it, but its still just a hatch and with that center arch its going to be interesting....

Ya know what we should do is one of us do a plug and make a mold, then we'll have a hatch for others that may build these in the future if we get this type of RC racing to catch on. I think I can work on that since you're doing the Cap Banks.

Chris, thats a good idea.....the front could go into the arch to reinforce it....That arch is the weakest point, its not thin. I just think in a tumble that its the stress bearing area...

Cool, sounds like a plan! David said it would take him about 6 weeks to get me a CF hull, he's supose to get back with me Monday or Tuesday with a final price.

Chris, I have never made a mold like that. If I got some pieces of quality styrofoam and made a couple of different shaped plugs until we decided on one, would that be sufficient to make a mold ? Then you could be working on the mold while your waiting on your hull. At the same time we could figure out a water seal and latch system. I was planning on contacting Jeff and getting a detailed windshield.....

Yes, I could work from that, and let me know what jeff charges for the windshield and we'll split it.

I have a mold made for the 1/8 scale and 1/10 scale boats that have a drop down and the base of the block. Hear is a picture.

Ok, soon as I pull all the tape and waxpaper. Kind of hard to show the details and get accurate measurements right now....tks Randy

Looking good DJ. Styro is real easy to shape and sand to make a plug from. The construction type, pink or blue. I have only made custom 'one off' lids with it but a mould could be made from them easily.
