Chris, I am planning on doing another one running twins eventually !! need to work out all the working wing details, chutes etc on this one then move on....so you doing a twin is a good thing, we can put our overstuffed heads together on these... I will build the capbank for your twin too and my twin fantasm at the same time...

Guys, I might be MIA for a few days after tonight. I am going in for surgery tomorrow am (gallbladder removal) dang stone!! Hopefully I will be back at it soon.

Well I finally finished up most of my GP400 refit and have actually started working on the Inlay in this hull. I went with the Aramid gold/copper colored cloth, just a headsup guys using this cloth. It strands off easier than normal CF does, so tape your edges. I destroyed the first cut I'm only doing a single layer and I am doing it in sections, found with this cloth I was haven probs using one piece. Got first piece layed and taped in place....

^^ spray it with hair spray ( and let dry ) to strengthen the edges and it's weave shape integrity so it can be handled easier for working ...

I had mine removed in January. What was supposed to be an overnight op, turned into an 8 day stay in critical care!! Surgeon didn't seal off the bile duct properly and I ended up with septicemia an hour after op while in recovery. Had to go back into operating theatre for repair!!! But I guess you didn't really want to hear that!!!
On a positive note, it did allow to do allot of online hobby shopping while lying in the hospital bed!!!

Hope your op goes better than mine DJ; All the best...

The prob with the hyper v-drive even though it is a very good quality product its made for fuel applications running like 25,000rpm if I remember correctly. Too bad because its a awesome looking piece of hardware....I'm sure Wayne will fill us in on whats goin on with his...

I have an excellent VA Doc doing mine, yeah I'm a bit concerned, anybody who says otherwise isnt being honest with themselves ...I truly think it will be all good, has to be better than the annoying pain of that dang stone I been dealing with... tks... DJ

Yes, the Hyperdrive though a wonderfully designed/manufactured piece of kit for Gas power, did not tolerate the horrendously abusive 25+KW@35Krpm I had electrically .. so back to twin engines and a prop tip separation of > 1/4" for the latest version of my obsession ..
                    Stay tuned .

Gallbladder surgery is one of the two most common surgeries in the US. The vast majority of patients have zero problems......

That's what I thought, I'd go strait drive twins counter rotating. With this hull only being 37" long two TP 4070s should push it stupid fast. I'm thinkin' 3Y 1440kv on 8s.

Tks Doug... I been doing a good bit of research on dragboats. This along with what drwayne and Chris are saying has got me "possibly" considering changing up my single pwr setup...One of the bigger problems Drag boats have is keeping it straight on the launch. Running twins would take away the torque roll issue. I do have a set of castle 1515's 2200kv for a 6S twin setup. Not sure if they would give me the same off the line launch that I was looking for. What do you guys think ?

IDK DJ, the 1515s are pretty powerful but to get the punch we're lookin' for to make it launch like a real one? That's why I'm going for a stupid overkill combo, after all that's what these boats are all about! Severe OVERKILL, power to weight ratio on a real one is unreal you're talkin' 8000hp in a 22' boat! I'm not positive but these TF Hydros can't weigh any more than about 16-18 hundred lbs. if that!

Chris, I will weigh mine soon. My cf hull is incredibly light, the box felt empty when I got it. Yeah 8,000 hp lets see if we can convert that to electric and too our scale on how to do that one...hey doc ...this is part of the fun doing something different than all the rest ! Your right, we are going to need lower kv, more torque, bigger prop to launch right...maybe I will try twin Neu 1521 1577kv on 8S... I am going to go with this motor mount regardless single or twin it allows for multiple different size motors without changing anything KR X-Long 2 Axis Aluminum Motor Mount http://kintecracing.com/Motor_Mounts.html looks like a good one to me...
