...it does have a working blower belt !! Pitts, its that time of year on the forum, race season is done. Now all next seasons boats are being planned or built. I hear ya, you have to pull yourself away from forum to get your stuff done. Your right there is some beautiful builds going on and a lot more to be started yet...Paul, I'm surprised you dont have a hot drag hull yourself. Isnt dragboat racing rather big in Oz ? It would be cool to be able to have that hemi motor stay in all the time and shoot flames etc.. but it is heavy and I am already a bit concerned about how well this hull is going to float with the weight I'm adding in the way I'm building it up ! That great 2 part Foam that Paul (785boats) turned me on too is going to be put to good use. With this type of hull, the majority of your buoyancy I would think is in those sponsons and their only 14" long and not very wide, so I do think weight is a big issue... DJ

Think I've started something ....Chris, brother this is going to be fun, do your build along with mine if you want...I'm going to be putting in another digikey order of caps and boards. I will build you a capbank for yours, it will be a 8x2 (16caps) in a series para configuration using 63v 470uf good up to 12S, same setup I'm building for mine. Works for both the ripple and makes your esc see more available v's so more zoom zoom..... DJ

Now thats a new twist ! Yes, a small turn fin on heel of both sponsons. Helps keep it running straight, least I hope it does....

Sounds great DJ, I hope we can get these set up to launch just like the real ones. The whole boat comes out of the water level and when it hits the water it's on plane and screamin'

if this was on a Nats level, what would it take?

It would take a few guys to show up at some Natnl' events with these boats and put on exibitions to start with, and then if it caught on maybe one of the sanctioning bodies would make it real!

Chris, thats the challenge with the real ones and I do think its going to be the same with ours. No doubt there going to launch fast and controlling the boat wheelie is the trick, we want them to stay level. So when they land their flat and on plane. I do think that putting fins on heel of both sponsons is going to help keep them straight after launch, its keeping it straight during launch thats going to be the issue. Not sure if my functioning wing will help with this or not. I'm really looking forward to the challenge of this hull, its going to be alot of fun. I have been reading whats available on setting up full size drag hulls like ours.... DJ

tks buddy... Darryl, I totally agree that a true side by side would inspire alot of interest. It will take awhile to build interest and classes/rules but I do think eventually it could happen. You need to build some kind of a drag hull yourself... DJ

after seeing your build , U bet. I think the guys here in Iowa would be up for this, Only 3 of us are true AMPHEADs,
but the others are seeing how fast FE's can Be,
some of us are thinking about building a pulsejet powered JAE rigger, for next year,

                              Sweet build
Having a great hull is half the battle won.
CG needs be set way back to stop the prop hop.

Tks Wayne !! your build has help inspire this one alot. Your assisting me on the way to build the right capbanks for this is also a major help.
