Very cool boat, something about a dragster...I want one! If your looking for any small parts to help make the adjustable wing a success you should check out servocity.com. I have purchased some of the mechanical components they sell and the quality and fit is very good. It's saving me a pile of time and the possibilities with there products are endless. Good for ideas as well. I look forward to seeing this boat come together!

That is very cool! I'm looking forward to this build thread ALMOST as much as I'm looking forward to the video of the first run. :) Fitting a SF 300A ESC and capacitor bank must be pretty darn tight? I have a Leopard 1000kv 5692 motor if you think you could use it, but I wonder if it's to big? I also have a new Hitec 645MG servo I pulled from a boat C.F. sold me, I'd be glad to send it your way if you need a steering servo.

Very cool hydro. Our club experimented with drag boats several years ago hoping to hook up with some gassers in West Texas who had lights, etc. Unfortunately the gassers fell through, but we still had several days of drag practice. I used a 28" hydro on 4S2P/5000 power and with a big "x" prop it accelerated very strongly. As I recall we used a 165 foot course and times were around the low 2 second range. Today, large capacity cells would not be needed. Using 10S1P/3300 packs would deliver huge power with less weight than I used in the little boat. Weight is the enemy for acceleration. Good luck!.

No problem DJ, Glad I could contribute to this TOTALLY AWSOME project!!! Hey If you're moving back down here, I should build one too. Then we could get together and run them, who knows maybe we can get a Drag class started!! Timing lights and all!!!

Matt, tks for offer brother. I am going with a Neu 1530 and a Savox servo. I had thought about using that motor but it is a bit too big for proper fit. Lots of room far as width goes. Prob is height, I make my own capbanks so hopefully I wont have any probs fitting them in....thanks for selling me this hull ..its gonna be sweet I promise when its done.....

Tks Jay, I'm starting with 8S 1100-1350kv and we will see what it can handle from there...

Chris, man now your talking, that would be very cool. You can get one like mine made out of FG. Randy at BBY has a very nice looking drag hull I was looking at doing eventually too...maybe do classes like 2S...3S...4S etc...lots of options, I do see some potential for it too become very popular with the current growth in "SAW"... Got my Aramid copper/gold colored cloth for the inlay, got the small twin turn fins, need a few more items and I will be ready to start building. I am planning on doubling the sponson heels, transom and rear upper deck to support drag wing. I am also planning on adding some bulkheads. Anybody got a link to a good source for cf sheets ? or do yall think I should use hardwood for these doublers ? .... DJ

I'd use CF for all stiffners, bulkheads, braces, Etc. I've been getting my CF plate from OSE and Kintec, depends on who has it in stock. look under building supplies.
