Should be a hoot this summer Pete. Tom just placed second in AZ with his new sport. Maiden race. First run was yesterday.

Both boats have the stuffing tubes glassed in. It doesn't look like much of anything, but it's solid as a rock. It took me a long time to realize this method. You don't need an epoxy blob, just thin cloth and good epoxy in the right spots.

I also started fitting things to check CG. It's probably going to end up somewhere around 1/2" from the back of the sponsons.

Picked up this jewelers scale on ebay. It's accurate to 0.01g. Well worth the $17 (free shipping!). I just mixed a total of 1.5 grams of epoxy!!! If you have the west systems pumps, it's as easy as pumping a few drops of hardener in, then adding 5x the weight of resin.

So what's with the little girl motor in there? Thought this was P sport?

                    Sorry, couldn't resist.

Funny you mentioned that. This little squirt blew the doors off that bigger motor I had in it earlier in the year.... and with much less current draw. Go figure??!!

I noticed that the lap times for P Sport were pretty much in line with LSH last year at the Elks. Those days are over with these bigger boats that can handle speed!!!!

not sure. I have the boat but I stole the motor out of it for something else. Plus, I have to be careful not to try to do too much.

I like the cross ways ESC location, but will you have enough room for batteries and longer motor. Should the motor mount be mounted closer toward stern.

I notice you are using a stuffing tube. Do you think this works best?

I ended up running the ESC this way at the end of last year. Batts actually fit cross ways as well up front. It's very versatile. You can always run the mount on the back side for a little extra motor room. Makes more sense for thrust that way anyhow, but I wanted everything as forward as possible and close to the CG.

I've been running teflon for years with very thin lube. If it's done right, it works awesome. It's very free spinning, forgiving, and less mess IMO. I know I'm not the majority, but as someone once told me.....'until somebody is blowin my doors off, I don't see a reason for change'.
