    New P Sport Hydro 2015!

Here are some vids and pics of the 2014 Design/Baseline:

    http://youtu.be/LOq1bfLUj1I <-- mojo racing vid (I'm far from a specialist, Bob!!!!!!lol)

Well, I had a lot of fun last year with the faster/larger P Sport hydro class. Based on the success of that boat, I’m going to design and build another one this winter (with a few tweaks).

Most of the CAD work is done. The new version will inclde the following changes:

    1. Drop nose profile for a meaner, more aggressive look.

    2. Dedicated motor mount perch built into the frame for easy motor installation/removal via flat aluminum plate. (built by an FE guy…for an FE guy! Ha!)

    3. Dedicated servo mount location.

    4. Center location marks on all frames for easy construction.

    5. Angled air bleed design to reduce pressure under the hull (air inlet smaller than air outlet = less pressure underneath). With speeds we were reaching last year, we need to start limiting the lift on these hulls (IMO). The boat seems to run and turn better with the weight at the CG rather than a ton of weight ‘up front’ to keep her down.

    6. Reduced weight (reliefs added to all frame supports)

    Final Dimensions (V5.7)

    Overall Length: 850mm
    Overall Width: 430mm
    NAMBA Legal P Sport

    Accomplishments:
2015 Michigan Cup Undefeated Champ (thanks to a turtle!)
    2015 MMEU Season Champ
2016 Michigan Cup Champ (Go Kabota Ken!!!)
    2016 MMEU Season Champ

Thanks. I could sell basic frame kits (no skin) for a small fee, but I'm waiting until I get a cowl design. Right now I am using the UL-1 cowl (see photo).

Here is a close-up of the dedicated FE motor mount. A simple flat aluminum plate will bolt right into the angled frame. Center marks on the frame pieces will make a nice guide to drill the stuffing tube slot.

I'm hoping to start cutting some wood this week!

Deffinetly a well thought out design, can't wait to see the custom cowl and all the other little design tweeks.

Chip v5.2 to be exact. Where ya been, Todd? I lost another mirror off the UL-1 cowl and there was nobody to dive for it. Total bummer.

Isn't it fun combining your imagination with your skill? You can go anywhere and do anything. Think it.............. and make it happen. This hobby SO kicks ass.

I threw 2500kv at the old Whip last Saturday but as I've come to expect........ the SF speedo wouldn't run it. Not sure why I keep falling back into that trap. Still hope to run it one time before the water freezes.

If the Whip can't handle P the way it's built I may be bugging you for frames. The boat you ran this summer was a beast.

I did finally get the Q sorted back out BTW. Just needs a new tail feather.

Terry - Is that a D wind 2500KV motor?? 'bout time you got the Q running again!

Finally got some time to cut some wood. Not happy though. The wood quality was horrid. A re-do is planned.

Nevertheless, I couldn't resist fitting some parts together last night to see what she looks like....

Should make some nice kindling for tonight's fire.
