Personally I think you should have your own canopy design. Let some of the guys come up with ideas

OK. I put a little time into this tonight. I think it's 'getting there'.

Are you set on that type of nose? what about a canopy starting back about an inch from the leading edge of the hatch?
or what about an open coxpit type, just an idea.

That looks good, but could you give the driver more leg room ...maybe more broad and longer nose extending farther out (add foam floatation in tip). You have some cool skills.

Darryl - Anything behind the leading edge starts to look ugly IMO. I like the open cockpit idea. I might make one of both!

OK. I will see if I can thin that nose a little and stretch it out. It's really tough to tell what this will look like without the windshield. I was trying to go for more of a 'Jones' look (Circus Circus, Smokin Joe, etc...). Still working.

As for the boat, I sanded all the edges and put a very thin coat of sealer on the outside. I'm leaving the tips sharp. All the skins came together nicely.

I got 2 coat of west systems on the bottom side . I'm working on a stuffing tube block to help support the tube going threw the bottom, going to make it out of wood. Shooter we talked about a 1515 2200kv neu, but what about a TP 2200kv, or a 2400 kv some riggers with a 2400kv r seeing 70+mph.

Nice. A block is a good idea. I'm learning that some thickness at the bottom interface is a good thing to support the tube. Man, I'd love to see 70mph...but that might be pushing the limits.....unless you're running alone on flat water?? 60-65mph is what I was running last year with some chop and a couple other boats. I think I saw a max of 67, but that was flat water with no other boats.

Another round of sanding and light coat of resin. I did this same process 3x on the last hull (black) and the finish turned out like glass. It's already starting to take on some shine.

                          Pete,

Don't add extra weight via epoxy trying to get a "glass" finish (assuming you will be painting with pigment). Epoxy is to seal the hull. Paint is to make the boat look nice. Don't add unnecessary thickness with BOTH epoxy AND paint.

                          Later,
                          Ball

10-4 Mike. Good point. You guys should see the wood builds that Mike does. Absolute works of art. West systems on every joint and NO CA!!! True works of art.

BTW - I measured the resin on the last coat prior to applying. Only 0.3oz! The first coat was somewhat heavier, but most of it sanded off.

Easy there Shooter.... I still have a lot to learn. AND there is much "theory" in all of this stuff. Many ways to skin the cat!

I do need to give you a call to talk about the fit of the front stringer through the sponson bulk heads. I have some gap that I want to see if you have in your builds.

                              Later,
                              Mike
