I'm thinking sometime this week ill make some new ones. I'm going to make the pin diameter larger. I will be able to keep the base and mill the hole larger. That will not take too much effort and add more strength by simply having more material to support it. Always something to improve on, lol!!! ( kicking my own but for not using the click drives). And being more conscious of throttle control.Comment

Yea I know what your talkin about!!! They are wicked props. I started working on some x457 props. Going to cut them down and toung, cup ect. Try and remove as much lift as possible. And I think the two blades are going to be better for my use. Just hope I don't start throwing blades.Comment

And can't wait to see what your making with the new hull. Is it the same as I got? I think these hulls are very stable. Oh and she went airborne for the first time, was so quiet and peaceful like slow motion when it happened. Must have went 50 feet then wham!!!! Not so quiet. Good news, everything stayed intact, just like nothin happened. So hopefully my reinforcing will pay off and she will survive many more aquatic long jumps.Comment

Yup same hull,just CF. A pair of TP 4083 950kv's and the monster Twin 300 FC ESC. Been studying your threads to help see what I want to do. Any chance you had a "bare" stock weight on your hull? This CF one is light and way better seam line than the Shocker.
Just need to assemble the workspace.Comment

No, I wish I did weigh it when I got it. With 4 5s 5000 batts and the reinforcing she is a tank. But preforms pretty good. If I did this over I think I might go with the cf hull and really try and get all the excess resin out from the reinforcing to try and keep as light as possible. Guess it's a fine line between having a light hull fast and one that will stay together for the season. :). Will be keepin an eye for ur build.Comment

Hack in here...
I have this hull + a pair of 4074-2200kv Hor motors all hardware. What props can I turn with good batts and T180 esc's? I run a lot of 4S packs. I still haven't built it but, it's good to see others to emulate build practices. I will add CF since my hull is glass only (1st gen) but, maybe not as much as you. I don't need that much speed. Great work.Nortavlag Bulc

Ray I would think starting with 442's might be on the small size for hull but I think you'll end up in the 447 props. I can't really guess at amp draw but the 180 should take it. When I was running 10s peak amps were 210 and settling down to around 120-140 on those 5218 props. Don't know how much my data will help but just my guessing on those 4074s.Comment

This video is later in the run of 103 mph, the wife was recording but not really recording. I asked to record and she said yes but didn't get the first several passes when water was flat. Oh well, she was running very flat and stable, the bouncing was towards end when water was getting rough. I will have a talk with my video staff later, maybe have to fire someone!,, lol.Attached FilesComment

Nice job Ralph, you're getting there! Do you plan on coming to the SAW event in Flint this fall? I would love to see you there with this cat.
@Ray:
x447s on 5s is a pretty standard sport setup when I use Castle 1515-1y 2200kv and will net low 70s. x442s will work on 5s but get pretty lazy on 4s. On 4s you are going to want at least x447s or even x450s.Comment

Well, you're already faster than any IMPBA cat has ever gone prior to this year, so I would say you're definitely a competitor. The biggest hurdle is getting the water to make the run. If we can get calm water during the day, you can run, tune, and get the most out of your boat. If we end up with a 30 minute window at night like we did in the spring, you kind of just have to put a setup together and hold on.
What props are you running in the vid (totally cool if you would rather keep that to yourself...just curious as I recall you saying 5018 FC, but they sound like 2 blades).Comment
