Well, from what I have read, if he does not take the folks advice and goes with
the prop set up he wants to use, then he has no one to blame but ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. (just my opinion)'
I for one hope he takes the advice and doesn't smoke that beautiful boat up to kingdom come.............
The boat is so dang nice looking, I would hate for it to smoke on its' maiden voyage.
always start small and work your way up checking temps as you go.

Well I have to agree with the general consensus about the props in question , I always start small even though I know for sure the motor will handle larger or just go with a lower cell count on the first run . If there is a video I certainly would love to see it .
Hi Rob,,,just a bit of FYI...I have numerous runs on my 42" cat with the 5698 (835Kv) on 10S and its pushing my porky hull into the low 60's and has been averaging around 120 deg after 3 minute runs. Seems to be a good match for the hull. looking forward to eventually hearing how it does in your larger hull.
Hello Rob, this has been a nice build so far. Start to finish in about a month is pretty quick in my view. I'm fairly new, but I haven't seen too many single cats that size, so I'm tuning in. Makes me wish I had more room in my 37" Daytona. Good luck!

His SF240 didn't even turn on- wasn't the soldering either. So, senor Rumdog, there is no new news other than SF suck! I had a SF burn out on me too- had to spend $16.??
to ship it back to China. Although Steven V. offered to send it back for me, It wouldn't ship-out until 3 week later. BTW, bought a castle hydra ice 240 and it works as a $255 (thats right!) ESC should- flawlessly.

Ive had a number of SF240s...work fine for me...very tough ESCs.
Glad to hear the castle is working out for you though.
BW Any time I sent steve back something he sent out the replacement within 2 days so why would u say 3 weeks was he out of stock or something like that

Perhaps he is out of stock- but he offered me the option of sending the ESC to him, because he had a package going to Hifei in 2-3 weeks.
So, since you say the Castle works good, he must be running the boat, no? Or YOU bought a Castle? The Swordfish esc's are far from junk.
I'm no Senor
Rumdog I'm not sure what the confusion is... I have a boat that I am running with a castle 240 I just bought to replace a bad SF240. Rob has yet to run his boat... As far as SF, Perhaps Rob and I are just unlucky... Or, maybe it has something to do with the date of manufacturing ( just a guess)..
"You can send the esc to me. I have a package going to them in about 2-3 weeks. Or you can send it directly to them. Either way, in the instructions there is a warranty form that needs filling out.

After getting the reply (I just posted) from Steve, I made the obvious (to me, at least) inference: If I had sent it to S.V. I would have to wait 2-3 weeks to have it shipped to China, then wait for it to be fixed and returned ( another 2 weeks, at least). So, I paid the $16.?? and saved myself 2-3 weeks of wait time. Either you're exceptionally optimistic, or... IDK how you would assume that from the reply S.V. gave.
