Yikes! 35,500 rpm. That scorpion is a torque monster. I'd drop down to 8-10s and use a bigger prop.

Thats just a lot of rpm for any fast electric setup. usually around 25,000 for sport and 30,000 for race. If you insist on running 12s use the smallest prop that would get that big hull on plane. I have the venom/atomik brushless 55" cat and it uses a 50mm 3-blade, but a 2-blade will spin easier at the same diameter. Whatever you do, run it for 30-seconds to a minute, then bring it in and check the temps. Your motor and speed control are quality products, but you definetly dont want to burn anything up. I would spend a hundred bucks and get a pair of 4 or 5s packs.

You guys missed the boat! The motor you need to be looking at is on horracings web page look at the SSS5694! It runs on 12s and is a 1200kv motor. It's rpm rated at 50000! The big motor with specs like that are made by TP Power. These Motors only sell for 105.00 plus 24.00 air frieght that will cover a pair in the shipping I believe. I got mine in a week state side. It comes with water jacket as well.SSS3674W1.jpg56sssm2.jpg
                12s x 3.7 x 1200 = 53280 rpm
I run this motor on 8s and it hauls the MAIL!!! I think that puts me at 35520 rpm safe and wow talk about power this is a 6 pole motor.

lol. Come on, dude. You're not going to run 12s on a 100kv motor... especially in a friggin boat!

                    Hello

some news from the big cat.

                    Motors and escs changed

I replaced the lehners 3080 and Atos escs.
Now two TP 5850 9D 820KV and two Hifei Swordfish 300 pro are mounted.
I want to try if such little motors and china escs are strong enouth for the big monster cat.
                    First testing runs very good.
                    Temperature is normal.
Here some photos from the new inside of the mystic and a running Video with the TP motors and the 300 hifei on 12s Lipo with a 60mm steel prop 1,2 pitch.

I took the above (MHZ Mystic 240) from a build that is here as well. It is a 94" cat
I love a good laugh and it seems that this video covers that pretty well. here is a picture of the SSS5694 in my custom built by me, 1/5 scale 4x4
