Saw your RC8 clip. Building a traxxas 4 Tec right now. A collectors item. It's the old 4 Tec pro nitro that comes without motor etc. Bought a nice red dot picco for it. Anyways, good luck with the boat.

Are you going to run the SF 240 or the Castle ESC? I have two of the 200HV Ice ESCs to use in one of my builds. I'm hoping castle has the bugs worked out of them. The data logging and over-current shut down are awesome when the ESCs work correctly.

my friend bw won had the sf 240 and it smoked after hitting the throttle once... I was there with him when it burned... it was pretty sad... and to top it off we hooked my sf240 to my pc for the setup and it didnt even turn on??? we even hard wired it to check if it was a connector issue and still nothing... Hes been running the castle 240 on 8s in a 41 fighter cat with a 5692 lep and has had no probs after about 9 or 10 packs... hitting around 70 on a garmin gps... btw the temps were low... runs great so thats why im goin with the castle for now...

ya it does... the darn thing didnt even turn on... even tried to hard wire it to see if it was a connector issue and still nothing... thats why im not running yet... sucks spending over 200 bucks on a D.O.A. esc that your thinking is going to be perfect for the job.... its like a wrench in the gears man...

I am using two 200 Hv for a build I am about to do and currently have them in several other boats and they all run flawlessly. I also have good luck with the sf 240 Hv the only thing is that you half to be real careful with the timing with the big leopards I know many people that smoked them running to high if timing.

I had great luck with the ICE 100s, went 74mph in my EKOS with those which is pretty good for 100A ESCs. I also loved the original 160HV and used one in multiple boats. My luck ended with 120HVs when they first came out though. Ruined a beautiful hull at the hit of the throttle onn HV (nasty fire, not just a failure). A lot of those ESCs were faulty from the start, that's what prompted the recall and release of the "ICE2" ESCs.

That's too bad. The SF240HV has been a resilient ESC for a lot of us...maybe they had a bad batch.

a good example is danas post #91 on this thread... look at it and you will most likely get mad.... he does stuff like that to all not just me...

We won't all love each other bro. Some people just won't get along...best to just stick to the boat and the people you do get along with.

When do you plan on running this thing? Are you going to get some video? It looks like you do decent work based on the pics of the boat...I'm looking forward to seeing how she runs.
