[QUOTE=bill34207;287902]Actually we need to ADD some new buoys for a shorter course. I really don't want to disturb our 1/6 mile layout and leaving the existing markers where they are will make it a lot easier for setting the extra ones. They make a handy alignment and measuring point.[/QUOTE

Do what you wanna do , but might interfere.....

Even if you pull the end markers out after setting new ones it makes sense to me to use the existing markers for locating new ones. It would be a lot easier to measure off 110' from the fixed marker and use line of sight between the current ones for keeping the alignment. We could really use a few new buoys anyways.

I really don't see where they would interfere if left in with a 110' wide lane between the two. My depth perception ain't great but think I could negotiate that.

Good point! I totally agree. Do we have any new buoys? Larry has some he made up. Maybe he would let us use them until I can purchase some? I'll PM him.The place that has the buoys is in Riverview I think. I'll try to contact Steve Hearl, the owner. Could one of you pick them up?

                        We will need some weights.

I'm game for setting in some new markers but we do need some advance planning and co-ordinating to do it. What I had in mind would require both boats, some more line and of course weights for holding them in place. (I don't mind buying some more line for the club).

I don't think this Sunday would be a good time for trying to do it unless done in the very early morning hours. The aviation site is still showing some pretty stiff winds from the SSE with them being up to about 11 mph by 10:00 am and climbing as the day goes on. It would be really difficult to keep our john boats in place to run a precise line under those conditions.

Let me know if you want to hold off on doing it this sunday so we won't bother to bring the other retrieve boat!
