Just got back from Home Depot. Bought 2 rolls of 1/4" x 100' twisted poypropolene line for measuring purposes and a 230' roll of 36# masons/seine twine for the buoys.
Was going to grab a few bricks but couldn't find any with the holes in them. We still need some weights too.
I don't see how it would be possible to do a complete turnaround in 15 minutes! Untape, unplug, plug in, tape up and back in the water within 15 minutes of the start of the last heat? Phew!
Should be doable unless you have to have one hauled back in by the rescue boat.
A lot of it would depend on how many classes you are running in too. I'll be taking a break during the 4s twins and whatever the letter designation is for tunnel as well. I did get the nose patched up on my LSO today though and bringing it too.
Just wanted to say thanks to everybody that came out today. Great turnout and running actual race heats was great! Everybody was organized and it went off without a hitch. Special thanks to Jeff for setting up the heats and keeping them moving. Great Job Jeff. Also kudos to the guys who set out the new 1/8th mile buoys and those that bought rope and buoys and blocks, etc. and Mike, who hauled our second retrieve boat down to aid in setting up the course.
We had two new members sign up today! Thanks guys!
where are the vids bill? lol how did the tunnel boat raceing go today? bringing my ps295 down this week ..hope to get in some test time first run stuff in mext weekend if anyone will be up for some fun runs.....brng on the vs=1's
Instead of trying to run on 15 min intervals, we should do like the waveblasters do at their races. Once the retrieve boat is in, you have 5 minutes until the next heat. It helps things move along, and it gives you plenty of time to get your next boat ready. If you have a back to back heat, and your boat has turned over in the previous heat, you can start getting your next boat ready while the retrieve boat is picking up the dead boats. That should be plenty of time between heats. I will try to get the results posted here shortly.
Ron, there were only 2 tunnels today. I am hoping a few more come out next month for the race.
For my vote I think 5 minutes is a little unrealistic. Just my opinion. If using the same transmitter for the boat in the next heat, you can't even test before taping up.
