whhohhoooh, Now your puttin the nails to me... Well, I cannot compare the RTR version of the App. b/c Ive not seen that RTR in person. I started w/ an empty HOTR hull, Turnigy 120s w/ 10XLs on 6S1P. I ended up w/ one heck of a 70mph boat. Handles extremely well and a blast to drive.

The Genesis, at stock speeds I dont think could handle any better. Im hoping she sees 40+ next week w/ an ESC swap and 4S. And Im hoping the handleing does not suffer from those changes. Im having a lot of trouble getting the bounce out of it. But thats the only issue I have.

The genesis also has a much more solid hull. I feel its a little better quality than the App (HOTR) hull. The HOTR is a very thin hull and without a doubt needs reinforced if your going to see more than the normal speeds.

I also like the hull design (under the water) of the Genesis a bit more. I like how its truley scale with no flat ride pads on the sponsons. Its going to handle chop a bit better than the App.

As for a twin set up, if thats what your leaning towards... I think Id pick the App. But build it yourself. Its an easier set up than the Genesis (twin)would be and theres many stingers available for the build. The Genesis would take quite a bit of work as the transom overhang is pretty long making it difficult to find suitable stingers, and struts would need work as well as the transom is convex.

Hmmm... wonder if that's what the problem was with my esc.? I didin't try it on 3s but the manual that came with the boat was showing a 4s 4000 ma pack for power. I know HC was saying 3s on the sale page for the boat though.

Yeah, w/ that esc, definitely a 3S boat. Steven (OSE) fried his on 4S as well.

Can we keep the personal discussions down a bit? This thread is more for club news? No offense intended but this is where members come to find out more about what's happening with the club. K? (don't hit me please!)

I'm sure the help is appreciated! I really really meant no offense. This thread is the only real communication link for our members and if they have to wade through a lot of other conversation they might get discouraged.

Looks like I already PO'd somebody else. They want a refund! Go figure.

I agree this thread should be mostly for club info and apologise for jacking it with chit chat. At the same time sharing useful information among ourselves is good too.
If anybody wants to use my "newbie lost" thread over on RCG for the more general discussions feel free though. It's been a "catch all" for my boats so far.

                    on topic

Now, getting back to what led a couple of us momentarily astray. Any more thoughts on getting a couple of runs a month instead of just the one?

BREAKING NEWS: I just had a productive conversation with the President of an existing club with an excellent facility. Their lake is open for running 7 days a week. I proposed that we become part of their club and have our "electric group". This would involve us joining their club. We would help with their organized meets and hopefully they would help with ours (if we have one, couple of times a year). They have an outstanding lake, driver stand, covered get ready pits, porta potti, retrieve boat, etc.

I need to put together a 'bullet list' of what we would want. They couldn't always guarantee exclusive use of the lake on a consistent date, ie, third saturday of every month, etc. So we would need to be flexible. What we would need would be twice a month where we could hold our heats as strictly electric.

I think we need to hold our dues renewal in abeyance for a while until we can work this out. I would propose that if we are able to go forward, current members would not renew with our club, but rather join their club. Two new members, would get their dues refunded so they could take that money to join the other club.

I believe there is a lot of merit to this plan. I need your thoughts to put together the bullet list. WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY HOW type stuff. Post or PM your ideas ASAP! With luck, we could run there for the June meet.

Riverview. But don't get too far ahead. I need your comments as to what we need so there can be a meeting to present it to their club members for a vote. Nothing is assured....yet.

Jim something like this could effect the request i made to you. Could they guarantee two meets a month, & how far is Riverveiw & what size is there course ?. Also how much is there membership fee ?.

I have no idea what they would guarantee at this point, but think about it, Not sure we could use up a whole weekend day twice a month but we will work out what we can. That's why the guy said to email him our requests. That is one of them.

Riverview is South of Brandon, North of Sun City, off I-75. They have a plenty big lake. Great course already laid out. Membership is $35 right now but may be going to $65.

It won't make sense for us to make this move unless enough of us do it . Otherwise, not enough people to put together a heat in anything.
