I just bought this 10ft jon boat for $100.00 . I drove to wesly chapel to get it.

Looks like today turned into a scrub anyways.
I got there about 10 (there's a detour up on the main road but you can still get there). Lotsa kayaks on the lake, noboby from the group was there and the wind was blowing totally out of the wrong direction too.
Actually, Hugh did roll up while I was talking to a couple of guys there with glow powered boats so I wsn't the only one there at the time.

Ray & myself were there around 9am. But the kayaksers were there & had reserved, the lake with the county according to ray . So he said we were not allowed to use the lake. Ray tried to get a hold of Hugh thru Jim & Mike, but he could'nt reach them. I will say, something needs to be done each race weekend to make sure the lake is not resevered by some other group. So we don't drive all the way down there for nothing. On the way home i stoped & ran my boats at Archies lake . I had the use the new retrive boat. I can say that it floats .

Wow. I would have been pissed after the long drive. If I ever get a car to drive I'll need to go look at the lake by Archie's. Looks like we may need to find another spot if Akerman is going to become unpredictable. We knew about the Kayak classes, etc., at the outset but they had never been there in almost a year. Go figure, eh.

I think I had my cell phone off this morning. Sorry I didn't get the call to warn Hugh.

I belive Ray said he has the # to the Kayak place. So i would suggest that someone has to call them every week that we have a get together planed there . To see if they are holding classes there that week. Yes Jim i was pissed.

I agree that was a long ride from Lakeland, plus all the time the day before and this morning getting the boats ready, loading the van and unloading when I got home. One good think all boats are ready and lipo's are charged for next time.

Last I was told, RC boats have priority at Ackerman. The man who originally donated the lake to the county, did so with the intent that rc boats had priority.
