yeah, I am sure he does, but I want to work the props myself. Its the only way to learn anything.
Zelos Fast List!!

I have a Zelos 36 I would like to add to the list but I cant seem to keep it from blowing over. This boat cannot be operated at WOT for more than a couple of seconds without flipping. The boat is stock except for CNC 4216 props. I run 2 5000mah 65c 3s lipos and I've had them all over the hull without much change. I have moved the struts around and they are currently set at 4mm. I have 2 more packs on the way to run it with 4 packs total. Any suggestions on setup or does running 4 packs help with stability? Any help would be greatly appreciated.Comment

What Fweasel said! Battery placement and strut adjustment. This hull is very sensitive to strut adjustment. A little at a time makes a big difference in the attitude. Make sure the struts are even. Get a GPS on that thing, I'd be happy to add you.Last edited by Keagan-Z06; 07-02-2017, 07:20 PM.Proboat Voracity-E 36" , Proboat Zelos 36 Twin , Proboat Miss Geico 29" , Traxxas Spartan, Fightercat Daytona, ZondaComment

Took me a little bit of time to post is the fast list but after lots of tests in every possible battery placement and strut adjustments i think it's safe to say that the cnc props (4514) i bought from ose store hit there limit, best result was on 62mph.Add me if you want on the list please and i think it's time to move on different props, pretty soon i hope.
Everything is stock except the ose HD flex cables and 4514 cnc props,4x turnigy graphenes 65c 6000mah (this batteries are huge and will limit the placement you can have.I will give a few trys with 2 of them only and report back )

I managed to take another run today. Although it ran its fastest to date, the run didn't turn out as planned. I finally got a
set of ABC 1814-17-45's to try out. I prepped them myself. I expected the boats ride attitude to be different, but left things the same as I last ran with a set of Octurras. I made a few passes when I was just about to say.... "This thing is riding to high and unstable." Next thing I knew, the boat jumped its own wake, got loose and headed for the beach, which I was already close to. I turned the rudder, I didn't think I turned it too much, when it barrel rolled several times. Luckily, staying in the water and not up on the beach. The end result is what you see. Ripped out the stb strut. I am currently working on re-enforcing that part of the hull. Anyway...... it went faster than it has before.
Can you update me when you can Keagan. BTW..... I am knocking on your back door as far as your stock speed.Last edited by vinnyp; 07-10-2017, 05:08 PM.Comment

edit: Forgot to mention, mine broke right at that spot too, completely torn off. Like a big hole. I did a CF plate in and out and filled it with epoxy, used silicone around the edges of both plates. That should keep it there until I hit an Iceberg!Last edited by Keagan-Z06; 07-10-2017, 05:49 PM.Proboat Voracity-E 36" , Proboat Zelos 36 Twin , Proboat Miss Geico 29" , Traxxas Spartan, Fightercat Daytona, ZondaComment

I remember seeing somewhere here on OSE when you ripped out a strut. I am working on a similar repair, only I am using 2 aluminum plates. I have the plates cut out , with the inner plates epoxied in place. Once dried, I will through bolt the 2 plates together, along with the struts. Just as a note..... the struts can move around on the end of the brass tubes. They don't fit snugly together, to keep them aligned. Maybe its for a reason, but I cant figure why that would be. I have found that a drill bit will fit through the strut and align it with the end of the tube, so you can bolt it in place correctly.
Thanks for updating my speed #'s.Comment

Ran it again this morning. Still riding bow high. I kept adding negative trim in small increments. It got better, but still needs more playing with adjustments to get it right. Ran out of battery before I was happy with it. Ran a bit faster than my last run. So, update me keagan. Sorry, but I am bumping you down a notch....Attached FilesComment
