I've been meaning to ask you Jerry,I have a PB Miss Bud and need an estimation on the amp draw for an ESC for it.I don't feel it will need more than a 35-37mm prop.FC has 140 ESC's and 160's or bigger.Comment

37" Cat Update!
Well, I had to close the computer for awhile so I could focus on designing the canopy for the 37" Cat .......Lol!
These may be pencil lines at the moment, but they will be etched on the hull & canopy so the details would be included in the molds.
My apologies for the pics but hope you guys can see them as they were a bit hard to capture in pics.Comment

Macdon if you can do that shape and smooth it into the hull like my Carbon daytona's hatch it would be sweet!!! oops my bad ofcorse you can, by the looks of the other jobs you've made it should be a peice of cake for you, hahaha.
Srislash i wish i had an answer for ya but the truth is i still cant even figure out my own setups, hell i cant even do the FeCal yet!!! Now i can say i had a PB MIss Elam that was pritty much factory and it was one of my fastest boats, it was the 1/12 scale with the factory 15oo motor and 45a esc with 2x2s 5000 lipos 40c on a 442 prop and it frickin flew so fast i flipped it afew times but could hang the turns wide open!!! God i miss that boat, sank it twice and still ran like a bullet..Comment

That looks good Mac.You know I wasn't planning on building another cat this year. Some things just go out the window.Haha
Jerry, the Miss Bud is the exact boat I believe but it only came nitro.442 prop eh,but it flipped. So a 935 should be fine.I am hell bent on running one of those 9 series props ever since I lost the hydro speed record to Jim Auguston umm,20 years ago.HAhahaha.I just don't want to get a monster heavy ESC for it that isn't neccesary. And I also don't want to wreck this one as it is practically vintage.Comment

No worries, I'll be finishing up on the 37" Cat soon, thus I can make your request on your Genesis. Since mail takes 2-3 weeks to get here, you might like to schedule and send me a copy of your Genesis canopy and we'll see what we can create with it :)
Why did you sell your hydro? Since you made it your avatar im assuming that you must've enjoyed the boat. Maybe you will be getting yourself a new hydro?
I have a confession - when I was starting out last year, I got myself a HK "small bolt" hydro. It took me awhile to complete it but somehow always got delayed in running it for the first time.
Well, that time finally arrived and it ran fast - but when I made my first turn, it flipped. It took the retrievers a few minutes to get to it and I told them to just turn it over and place it back on the water. I ran it again straight and fast and when I slowed down to turn, it flipped again ........... this scenario happened 2 more times before I finally gave up on it. I guess its all my fault as it doesnt have a turn fin or maybe I turn too sharp, but in my mind I figured that running a hydro must be the hardest boat to run and requires a glass-like water to run smooth. I figured it is above my skill level.
Hydros do look good - cant say Im not attracted to them, but I never explored getting myself one fearing of my first experience with hydros. It will be naive of me to think that all hydro boats perform similarly to my first experience, so Im hoping you can share your thoughts on this matter.
I was also told the same thing about running a F1 Tunnel, but my experience yesterday of running a F1 for the first time turned out to be a blast! Maybe you could recommend a hydro boat that will be good and forgiving to beginners? hahahaha!Comment

Oh, and that little mishap that your camera man got - happened to me as well! hahahaha! It was still on its feet when it landed so just like you - it runs right off again!
Awesome vid man and thanks for sharing!Comment

Macdon hydros need a turn fin cuz the hull bairly touches the water, the hull has 4 points or ride pads that just bairly touch when running wide open so just the rudder, prop and turn fin are actualy in the water, i had a miss elam by PB and a miss vegas by AQ. i had to make the vegas a FE cuz it only comes in nitro but is bigger and haevyer than the elam, and my elam turned pritty sharp at WOT but was so fast she would back flip ill try to find some of my old vids for ya..Comment

heres one,, http://vimeo.com/26835073 PS the hydros are very tight inside very tight!!!!but i love the look and style of them, hense HYDROJERRY.Comment

And yess the hydros need nice colm water to run nice but can be run in alittle ruff water just no real waves or wakes,,, you dont want them to hop or bounce at any point they will catch the air and over she blows..i sold mine cuz well i had them for awhile and at the time wanted something new, like the Geico,, i always wanted to make a Geico cuz i love the sleak look of the mystic hulls and them PB came out with the Geico so something had to go,,, as for the hatch just holler when your ready, the Genesis will basicaly be down for atleast one or two more months or i can just run one of my other boats..Comment
