My apologies for the pics but hope you guys can see them as they were a bit hard to capture in pics.
Those are great looking details Mac! That 37" Cat is looking better everyday! I'm trying to look for parts from my old tool boxes in prep for that Cat! hehehe!

Thanks Jerry! I figured as much regarding the turn fin - its a must. Calm water does help and if I could recall that day, there was a bit of chop so without a turn fin I guess its easy to predict the outcome of my run. Maybe sometime down the road I would get myself a bigger and better hydro than a small one, so atleast it could handle a pinch of chop. Its rare to find totally calm waters down here, so I believe a bigger boat maybe advantageous.

Great run of your hydro in the video! Did you burn up your esc? What brand was your esc?

Regarding your Genesis canopy - I guess you could send it anytime from now. Mail takes 2-3 weeks to get here and Im sure I'll be done with the 37" Cat by the time it arrives.

Thanks brader! As you know, I always try my best to grant your requests hahaha!
While Im taking care of the hull, do me a favor by searching the hardware we can use for the Cat. I know you'll be running twin on yours, but I'll go single for now as my funds are getting depleted due to my many projects that I need to bankroll.

My gasser is still in limbo and I foresee more stuff to buy once that starts to run. Its always the case of too many boats but too little funds! hahahahaha!

Searching now for your hardware brother! i'll probably go with the HPR type rudder with hydraulic fakes for my 37" cat! from Shenzhen! hehehe! Talking with a possible supplier that offers 60 to 180HV marine esc's. I'm thinking of going back into distributing rc parts again. Reconnecting with my rc manufacturer contacts in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and UK. The one who actually makes parts for FC was my former contact. Who knows huh? hehehe! FC for The Philippines seems like a good idea! But, I don't want to bite more than I can chew! hahaha! Let's see where all these talks takes us!

Seriously thou, I've been suggesting you to look into the possibility of supplying rc parts again which you did before. Its great to have more resources to get parts, most specially to us local parts-starved hobbyist over here!
Good luck with your contacts and fire away typing your keyboard to search for my hardware! hahahahaha!

It seems to be the case everywhere, parts starved that is.I cannot walk into any hobby store in my area(within an hour) to get anything close to what I need/like.I hafta do the online thing and order carefully.
A hydralic fake rudder sounds great. You know I was watchin a vid earlier and it is amazing how the full scales are almost exactly the same hardware.

Hey Mac! Our good old friend Frank offers several types of strudders and strut-rudder combos! From inline types to single and double arm rudders! hehehe!

of course, there's johnny who offers better prices! This one seems nice!

Oh! I just remembered! I have one of these in my old stash! Would you like to try it as a mock-up to see if the size of the rudder is good for the 37" Cat? It seems a bit small though for the new Cat!? I can bring it when i pick-up my skunk and deliver your decals!

Im looking around for a rudder with 140mm vertical length. I saw one in ebay with 146mm and 2 water pickups but bracket is short. I could possibly use that and have a machine shop make me a longer bracket/extension.
I took a look at what HK used in the Genesis boat and it seems like the in-line strudder I got from R2 hobbies for my MG29. As far as I know that rudder is only 115mm - so I'll be an inch short.

To those of you who has 35-37" Cats - would you be so kind to show pics and list dimensions of your rudders?
While I did acquire a motor & esc which was primarily for the MG upgrade, I think I would need to set them aside to use for the 37" Cat instead. So 1515 and T180 would have to be donated for the cause! Vive le Cat! hahahaha!
So now, I will be looking at a strut and rudder to use, stuffing tube/flex (3/16"??) and probably 2 x 3s batts in series for a total of 6s.
                      So, a 1515 with 2200kv, T180 and 6s - what prop size would I be looking at?

If you're looking for a 140mm rudder, why don't you get the 150mm rudder with Hydraulic fakes then? test run it with the 150mm first then just cut 10mm if think its too long for you! The price isn't bad either!

Cutting the length if needed is no problem. However, the hydraulic fakes you recommended is best for either in-line or twin motor setups. Im only considering a single atm, so a rudder with an option to be offset is what im looking for.
I could've easily bought that strudder you have a picture above - which is the same strudder im using with my MG29 right now - but I think 115mm vertical length maybe too short for a 37" Cat.

I found this one brother but my concern is that, it has a 1/4 shaft.

Hahahaha yeah, I saw that one when I was searching but 1/4 shaft. I actually saw a lot of contenders, but just like you pointed out - they use 1/4" shaft. Maybe the 37" Cat needs a Zeneoh instead? hahahahaha!
