Alright Mac, this just hit me! You want a cig type boat and you mentioned outdrives. Well, I know you have at least 4 4S lipos, 4 T-120's, a REK Outdrive, 2 1,900kv motors, some bits and pieces of parts! Now, why don't you build your 40" cig boat with twin outdrives? you have matching motors, esc's, lipo packs etc. All I see that you need so far is another REK outdrive! imagine a 40" electric boat that you can run even on choppy waters with twice the power to pull it! Is that a good dare for yah mate? That's just like the Geico service boat you just posted with twin outdrives!
How about you guys? what's your take on this idea? hehehe! This should be fun eh!?
Its kind of bust at the moment, Ray Fuller replied and he said he doesnt have right hand flex shafts. I dunno if there's a service doing custom right hand flex shafts for REK outboards. The shafts have square ends at both sides.Comment

That's what I'm kickin around a nice twin scale fastish hull. The next time I'm in my buds shop I'll take a pic of the other hull I like.
Mardon,I have a post in another thread in regards to scale outdrives and I haven't seen anything else.Nothing smaller. I may have to do something about this.Hehe
Just finding a right hand flex for a common REK outboard may prove hard enough for me.Comment

Why not use a right hand flex with one square end and a round end. Then use a regular coupler! My Aquacraft SV27's old Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoTm4Btz41Q

If you invert the flex, would it make it a right hand flex?
A bit of progress on the Cig boat..........Comment

Looking good,
What do you think of my 36" shockwave deadrise for chop ?
It was 1" 5/8 deadrise.

1-5/8" seems okay as the cig boat im doing is about 2" or roughly 25 degrees (depending on the width of the transom). Your freeboard is high so I think it will handle a bit of chop.
I am also interested in knowing the freeboard height of your 36" shockwave if possible :)Last edited by macdon; 03-08-2012, 02:16 AM.Comment

I saw it there when Lenny posted it - maybe you were just looking at a different website. I told you to quit looking at *!***!***!***!**! hahahahaha!Comment

Im a bit partial to the interior in these pics - dunno why hahahahaha!
Im currently planning it as well as the exact hatch opening. I like a huge opening so its easier to setup and do maintenance work.Comment

And do not for get about the drivers and hot babes,
Hear what I got for you on mine.
Free board is 2 3/4" and the width is 8"& 9" at the top of it.
Do you think by adding longer chined to the bottom of the hull it would make it handle chop better ?
I think said it right.Comment

I wouldnt touch the hull - well 'coz for one thing I wouldnt know what to alter, plus the fact that Im sure proboat has engineered that based on their trials & research.
While mine is a rudimentary approach, I still would find out later how well its attitude is on the water.
You measurements are close to mine - mine is just a tad more but my hull is also longer at 40" vs your shockwave at 37".
Here's the choppy waters in our pond if you can view the video. This was taken last Sunday where 80% of running boats were gas. Of course, we challenged nature with our smaller FE boats but the local retrievers really had their hands full.
You would even see at 0:38 how the choppy waters almost took out my Geico Gasser! Even at their size, they get tossed around.
Also, you might have seen these sites already, but have always been a good read:
