Fun stuff. It seems the wind has something against me. Everytime I get ready to go out its calm as can be. Get ready to run, windy. Fight the wind and smash as much as I can.. Start rolling up to leave and calm as can be again. But if it where easy the lakes and rivers would be crowded with other rc boats. So untill I tame the wind Im having fun with the challenge. 57 is no joke for an rtr boat. Party on.

Me and you bro. My packs were running low so I called it a day. As soon as I was leaving it got calmer. Tired of playing games with Mother Nature. Lol. I still think my batteries are contributing to me not getting that 60+ I once got. I thought it would of been much easier with the x447s. I will detoung another day and go at it again. Still have not tried 4 packs yet.

I was stoked after sharpening prop some more, smooth the flex shaft and sharpen rudder a bit "only" to get 57 vs 60.5 I got without doing those other stuff. That is why I think something else is playing against me. I'm looking at u Mother Nature!!

I'm gonna hit the lake with mine this weekend. Hopefully I can get 80 on the stock motors and escs. Mine should be more stable now as I added some epoxy to the tips and tunnel for a little added weight up front. We shall see.

I always find it takes a couple runs to free up the grease. I am of course assuming you greased the flex up. Maybe a few drips of light oil down the flex.
I have no data for proof about the grease but oiling the flex freed up a couple mph.

That will be nuts if you hit 80 on stock electronics.

Can someone take a quick pic of how much grease they put on the flex? I use a couple drips of 3 in 1 oil on the flex after and before use and then grease.

I find one can only get so much to stay on flex as it slides thru the bushings/bearings. But then after it is all buttoned up I put a couple drips of DuraLube where the flex enters the stuffing tube. If you spin the flex up during this it would be even better. Make sense?

Are those faster props than the x447s?

I assume u mean the end from inside the boat after you have coupled it to the collet and motor. I hadn't thought of that but it's worth a shot. I may need to find another spot to run this boat which is gonna be hard. Someone mentioned the flow of the river may be contributing to the lower speeds.

Oh if you are on a river it will certainly be faster downstream than up. Be aware of debris then too. I don't know about there but around here we can have trees flowing down, LOL.

This is a quote from member "Fluid" on here regarding his take on running in the river.

"As far as your GPS speed being low, running with the wind reduces tunnel lift, and combined with a forward CG the boat could be plowing a bit, sucking up speed. Too, how fast is the river flowing and are you running upstream or downstream? The GPS measures speed relative to land, not moving water. Hard to say without seeing it."
