    Have you sharpened your rudder?

I laid a piece of tape then siliconed it to the tape so I could test it. It's glued permanent now. Im adding one to the zelos today.

good possibly, since there only held with 1 adjustment. I read manual { very good one} and holding the rulers were hard to do, so I had 1mm stock brass strips, measured stock and they were just under 4mm from last too ride surfaces, {were not even, I flipped it once before doing this, so may have moved} I soidered 3 X mm strips of brass together and held ruler on last too ride surfaces and dropped them 1mm each. Hope that helps in messuring yours

Batteries all the way in front will help with the boat not lifting. I would say to run your strut at a neutral level but that would probably cause more lift so I don't know what to tell you. I got 71 mph with stock electronics , x447 props s&b, batteries all the way forward and rudder has not been sharpened

Ahh. Great idea. I mentioned doing it to the guys at my pond, and one good racer mentioned that I should leave almost 1 inch from the sides, in other words, not go all the way across, said it needs some funneled air through it, in thinking turns. What do you guys think?

the rudder came pretty ugly. I could run my short ass fingernail on it and at end, was big ledge, {lack for a better word} ran my finger down the rudder and nothing but ripples. So I sanded it smooth, sharpened it. Im thinking it may need that lag. Anyone else has got a "rough" looking rudder, before I order a new stock one?

Do you mind taking a picture of what you are using to do this? I tried the two rulers as well but may be off, kinda hard to say.

rough example.. 1mm shims may not be "exactly" 3mm once together, but as long as both the same, don't matter if there 2.97mm or not. you need wife to help hold ruler :)
                          ofcourse prop and shaft removed

I use my allen wrenches. Have thought about making a jig though. In the butter zone for my setup untill I change props again (soon). Till then its just moving my batteries around for ballance.

Strut level makes a ton of diffrence in speed. Get it leveled off and you will go a lot faster
