Ran on a x438, and 16 cells last night. I snapped the .130 right off. It twisted up and snapped. Lost the x438 :-(

I have one more I am gonna toss together and see if I can loose another prop, or maybe that other cable was just a fluke.

or maybe I really need .150 or .187

With the 9xl and all that power .150 is a must. The 187 maybe a bit over kill.

        Hey Chris,

Remember that scene in Jaws when they saw the shark for the first time??

Your going to need a bigger cable. Somebody mentioned that awhile back.:p
        Good luck with her!!

Hey I have a question. Are the wire shafts more durable than cables?

I haven't run any wires myself, but have read alot about them.
Some guys swear by them, and some refuse to use them.
It seems that they work in a well setup boat if you have a properly built wire drive.
If I was going to go down that road, I would contact Fluid for the dos and don'ts.
I think he runs wires almost exclusively, and with great success.

Thanks Doug :). My Jolly Cat was delivered with the new upgrade factory .78 wire drive system. Now I have that really big pulso motor installed so torques much more of an issue. I won't be testing untill next Tuesday when the new couplers in. I am really even quite cluless as to a prop now. As always..start small.

I am glad to hear that it worked for you. I have not been getting a drop of water in since I added this, except for the run this week that I stuffed it. ha

I have always had problems with some friction and water in the drive line. I found that the rubber grommet or your fuel line tubing on the prop shaft keeps the water from entering the tube. (I am not using any nylon tubing in the metal tube.) So without any water getting in the tube, I do not need all of the grease in the flex tube . I only spray some WD-40 on the flex and oil the prop shaft. I am seeing a lot less friction, resistance when turning the prop shaft after a boat run. This should give an increase in speed and lower your amps like a piano wire drive line. This is all experimental but has worked better so far.

You can only have one bend in your drive tube for this to work. It creates a bad vibration with two bends.
I dont run any liner either I recently tried this stuff it dries into a nice lubricant it works great on the gears on my rc cars really quiets the cars down, it seems to make the driveline smoother on my boats but I have not tried it in water yet.

Says it's flammable. Do you think it's just the propellent? Have you tested it on any plasitcs?
Let us know how it works when you get it in a boat.
You may be on to something.

Thanks for posting that, I'm allways looking at lubricants, for boats. I thought I had better close that door.:D

yeah, I know "someone" mentioned that DOUG. :-) I know, but hey, it was running fine with a 700 motor, 16 cells and a .130 cable, so I was like "what the hell, let's try it!"

depending on how much bend you have with your stuffing tube for a .130, you can take out the teflon and just install a .150, thats what i did on my om29

No problems with the metal on metal steveo? I have heard of this....But I have been a little reluctant to try it.

I think it would work on my setup. The bends are pretty wide.

i have had no problems in my om26 with this setup, it is using a .130 stuffing tube with the teflon out with a .130 it is a hair sloppy for the .130 but just fine for the .150
i have less resistance with metal to metal than with teflon
