[QUOTE=Joern Markset;81528]Maybe.... A decent 35 cc cost about $2700 and for that price I get motor and esc + some lipos. I allready have about 8 - 10 chargers, powersupplies, and so on...
I`ve been doing modelboating on a high level for several years, that`s way there is much equipment left... I never throw things away... I guess I have about 20 raceready boats... Monos, catamarans and riggers. Electric is missing so far...[/QU

OH i did not realized you did elecric boating before What brand 35cc would you pay 2700us for ?

Adrian the actual length was about 6' or 15cm with absolutely no issues but have been shortened to about 4.5 inches or 11.5cm . the more critical length is from battery to ESC , The more capacitors you have on the esc the longer you can go ( to a point )

the ones on my motor are 15mm (1.5 cm) so you reckon i can make them longer, no problem ? you did add some extra caps on your esc ?

I have not been into electric boats on this level, but most of the parts are eqv with nitro/gas except from motor/esc/batt.
Aprox $2700 is the price you gonna pay for a CMB or SG 35 cc in Norway.

Adrian 1.5cm is 2/3of an inch are you sure you read that right , 6 inches to the motor should be safe with almost any setup

NEU 2230/1,5Y is listed with max voltage of 72 volts, does that actually mean that the motor can handle up to 72 volts?
And if so, any ideas of where I can get hold of an esc capable of more than 60 volts?

60 volts is as high as I have seen , a 2230/1.5Y even on 60 volts is going to be an animal

I C, I`m reading lots of motor specs to get some basic knowledge while I`m waiting for the 2230 to be in stock.
In the meantime I have assembled a DF 12 (650mm) with CC 120 and Nemesis 9XL on 4S just to learn a little, and I ordered today a 1527 to power a Titan hull.
It is really fun doing something new when I have been stuck to nitro and gas for last 15 years

I agree it is a blast to learn something new. It make life more fun and interesting. Have fun!

This means the it's the motors max rated voltage... running the motor with this amount of volts, will reduce the torque dramatically... like with any electric motor you don't wanna run at it's max rated voltage. Like Peter said, even at 60v this motor will be an animal. In case you have a hard time finding an ESC that will run all that juice, Castle Creations has what they call a SHV ESC (Super High Voltage ESC), that goes up to 90v and 250amps... now that's power!
