Heyyyy.. -how do I know it is sanded enough after coating it with epoxy?

-I cant tell is it thru the epoxy and am I sanding the fets here, or what?

Does thin layer of epoxy even matter at all? -I guess it is not good to sand too much.

Edit. i scraped the fets with a knife end it sounded metallic, so I guess it is done.

    finished product pic#2

the motor leads are solderd so close to the cooling plat that it scares me a bit.(shrink tubed them )

The sanding job looks fine If there was still some epoxy on them you would be able to see some shiny spots

One thing I do not like about those coolers is the real cooling is on the outside of the fets. They fit well but I would add another alum tube to it down the center.

A cooling block with water all the way thru it would be better. I found some on the web but even a plate with at least a tube down the center will do a better job keeping water over the inner fets.

I think the stock plate is fine with a little bit of work.

No. I left the thermal pad on the plate. and put a tiny tiny bit of AS5 on the fets.

Hi - i have a question . i want to understand the size of esc i should be buying but first i have to understand series vs parallel wiring . I want to use two 7.4v 3300 2s lipos in parallel and 2 3300 11.1 3s lipos in parallel . would that give me 5s lipo or 10 s lipo for a rating . i am assuming if this whole thing is in series i have 5s lipo amd 13200 mah at 36 v . is that correct ? i see many of the esc are rated for total volts - and given a amperage rating - what size esc would be right for this - a 10 s lipo one or would this be considered 5s lipo? also how many amps ?

Not fully understanding the wiring that you want to do. Is this going to be 2X7.4v in parallel and 2X11.1v parallel and both parallel packs in series? This should give you a little infor on wiring.... http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/wiring.php

yah - dom . i want to use 2 7.4 packs in parallel and two 11.1 v packs in parallel - what size esc would you think i need if the 7.4 totla mah is 6600 and the 11.1 is 4400 . couls i use a 70 amp esc and be safe or would i need a much larger one say an etti 150 esc.

i had this in my blackjack 26 . it was going like a bat out of hell and having all those batteries in the hull gave it good weight - i would have to say i met 45 mph easily . only problem is i was running two many amps and the esc started to falter after a few runs. anyone one tell me is 2x 7.4 (2s) parallel and 2x 11.1 v (3s) parallel wired in series considered only 5 lipo ? i mean realistically there is 10 lipos present?
What amp esc should i buy to replace mine. ? would a hv sentilon do?

How would the HiModel handle 9XL Feigao on 4s, 14V setup wit no water cooling installed?

Yes, your setup is still at 5s..
esc depends on your motor. Using the stock motor and the stock esc the stock esc will handle 6s with the right prop
wrong prop and you could need a higher amp rated esc like 100A and bigger

                                HM200Esc.

A good friend of mine runs one with his Futaba FM with no problems. He did not need a Pistix.
