I have the 3-7 cell that needs the pistix. My 4-8 cell will work on my Tactic 2.4ghz system.
Hope this helps.
Did you use the 3-7 cell with your TacTic system? I have the TowerHobby 2.4ghz, which is same as the TacTic 2.4ghz. Its a good thing i do have the PiStix on hand. I knew it would come handy someday.

That's strange, I have both the 3-7 and 4-8 cell esc's and both work, arm, and program fine using my Spektrum Dx3.0 with no problems and no pistix. But if your going to buy one I would suggest the 4-8 cell JMO.

I bought the 3-7 because i didn't want to use the internal BEC. But, if and when this one craps out. I'll get the 4-8cell.
BTW, the 3-7 cell doesn't have a BEC, but it comes with the red wire. Why is that?
Can someone please tell me how much amp i'm getting with this setup.
ESC Himodel 200amp 3-7 cell .

Reread this whole thread, and still need to ask my question:
Anybody know how to get the Himodel 200A noBEC controller to get OUT of programming mode?
Dad was running his vegas with the Tower Tactic radio on 4S packs and an 8XL with X640 prop (same as mine which hit 55mph) and his motor was not fully revving (maybe 30mph). So, I thought we should reprogram and heat up his timing (factory setting was 1deg).
So after learning the hierarchy of beeps, we got it programmed, but at the end where it says to "swiftly open throttle" it starts again at the first menu. I tried all I could think of and haven't gotten it to come out of programming mode. We can get it to work only AS IF it needed a Pistix (full reverse being neutral and any amount of movement on the trigger being forward).
Anybody have the secret? Repeat, the ESC was working normally before, just not winding up the motor. Thanks, J
It's been a while since I've reprogrammed one, but I think that after 'Swiftly' opening the throttle, You then have to go to fully closed (brake position) & hold it there until you hear the 'Security beep' then release. Then the unit is good to go.
Note; by 'swiftly ' they mean move the throttle to the open position & let it go almost immediately, before you hear the security beep, otherwise it goes back into programme mode. As you have found.
So it's;
Pull the trigger then let it go before you hear the security beep.
Wait a couple of seconds.
Full brake & hold until you do hear the security beep.
Let go.
System is ready.
All the best.
Paul.
I took a look at both and from what I read its the GX 200 No BEC, it mentions it in the first part of the manual that this ESC does not have a BEC circuit. The other manual mentions that it has a BEC circuit.
