Yes there are good and bad of every type of motor, I have use some Hyperion outrunners in RC crawling that put the inrunners to shame for torque and consistency of performance. Outrunners got a bad rap and most guys just took a few at their word that it was not the way to go. Kudos for those guys who continue to buck the status Quo!

yes they claim they can handle heat very well but I picked up a little insurance just in case http://southriverrcboats.com/shop/ar...DWRP-ORWC-3%26

motor and mount came to me yesturday and the falcon 41 is on its way to me in about a week and I will start a build thread

heres a guy that hangs out at RRR that has the same hull and same motor ...check it out

he just doesnt have enough open water.....handles real well in chop

Nice cooling unit. I only say that it seems to be in very large boats that they work well. Why not try something in a small set up and see how it does.

They do fit the bill for big torque for big set ups.

Darin had set N2 speed records by going the more torque route by using a tranny. and swinging a big prop. That is exactly what a good quality outrunner should give you. small boat larger prop and high speed. that is the theory anyway.

Throttle control will be important and having an esc or radio that will allow you to dial in the throttle response will be the key.
