Thanks again make a wake. I'll get some of this stuff ordered. I'm not looking forward to the battery bill. Any suggestions on these. Each pack should be 3s 11v correct ? How about a c rating?

I looked back over the thread and see no mention of cells?........9s right?

I would recommend 9s, you can swing a bit larger prop that way. You will need 6 3s batts, i think thats better than two 4s and two 5s myself, but to each his own.

The C rating is actually not hugely important running 2p(although no 20/25c for sure), but i would get 30c minimum............35c would be nice though too.

Six of these for 300 continuous amps and 10,000 mah

or six of these for 348 continuous amps and 11,600 mah

You will need to make two parallel connectors.

This is a pic of my parallel connector for my 39" mono, but for my Hydro is used two 5.5mm bullets that fit the stock batt connectors and soldered the two wires into one big 8mm bullet.

          The packs i suggested in post #32 are 3s packs. 3 x 3s = 9s x 2 sets = 9s2p.

Slow. I'm nearly finished. I'm waiting on some batteries. I bought an eagle tree data logger from the swap shop. I would like to get all the goodies so I can find a home for everything.

Hello gentlemen, it's my first post

lots of good info here, as i'm starting a 1/8 Miss Renault'83 build 42" Newton plans (ply). after reading this, i believe i'll power it with a castle 2028 & a swordfish 240 hv

it's my first electric boat (have electric planes tho) so i'm a sponge... sort of

i might start with 8s and see.

need some advice on the hardware pls. if someone has the part no. for the cooling jacket for the 2028, let me know

                        Thanks, Vasek

Welcome to OSE! What sort of LiPos were you intending on using? What speeds and run times are you looking for? I would suggest you start with 10S power on this build. The 2028 motor is better suited to 10S than 8S. You will be able to obtain good speed with a lower amp draw than you can with 8S, making it easier on all components.
