    1/8 hydro

well i am finally going to finish this build off . it is a pro boat formula hull . i have a castle 2028 780 kv motor going in , will be running stock hardware .
my question is what speed control should i run the cc hydra 200hv or the hefei swordfish 240 hv ?

Get a Swordfish 240 HV from OSE, they are plug & play, run cool and are good solid controllers for the money. Castle HVs have poor track record.

Watercooling is a must for an HV setup. Run your cooling to the ESC first then to the motor.

i meant the motor mount , i guess i should have expanded on my question . just for curiosty sake , who sells a mount for the 2028 ? i guess i should see a price first befor i commit myself to a scratch build . thanks for the advice , because i thought the motor cooled first .

Water cooled mounts arent needed for inrunners. They really don't do a thing for outrunners either. I don't know who makes a mount for a 2028. You can make your own fairly easily though.

i figured that big honkin motor could use the support in the back . is it a clamp or just a rest

Best way is to find some good aluminum plate & angle and make your own mounts. Most motors can be securely mounted off the shaft-side end bell face(even the big ones). You just need to the right gauge mat'l and good quality fasteners. You don't need a CNC machinne to fabricate this stuff, its amazing what you can do if you own a square, power-drill, hacksaw, file/sandpaper etc.

I'm lucky enough to have a small Drill Press, 12" Disc Sander and Band Saw along with other tools in my workshop. Can build or fix just about anything with the hobby.
