Sorry your 1.7 prop comes out at about 71 mph!
Your claims of 110 kph with the 37.5mm 1.4 are about what you'd expect from a rigger with that setup, that I can actually believe.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

I have one too and until I re-seal the inside properly and splash some CF/Kevlar in there I'm not running it.

I was disappointed with it at first since the messed up on the boom spacing.

Might as well run it until it breaks. My worst chinese purchase so far until I try it in the water.

          140Km/hr my eye!!!

I posted a 2 star review for it and R2 Hobbies has not posted it yet, that was a week ago...

          Gotta wonder...

Other points I'm not thrilled with are:

            - Wood grain is in weakest direction for sheeting

            - Canopy is flimbsy

            - Booms were hollow, mind you 5mm in diameter & only a 1.5mm hole but, wth? they sell solid 5mm sokid material, Why couldn't they have used it on this? 6mm would have been much better and I might ream the aluminum out to 6mm if the LHS has some 6mm solid material.

LASTLY and this is a BIG ONE!

The drive cable is for right hand rotation, not left!!!!!

When someone tries this it should lock up nicely.

                      Hi guys

overall i am fairly happy with my purchase but this is my first rigger and im only out for the fun of it

and ray the cable in my boat is for a left rotation prop

now here was my test setup

                      Feiago 540s 5070Kv motor
                      turnigy 180A esc
                      7.4 lipo
                      2 blade stock prop

                      videolink

everything the same except prop was changed to a 3blade 35mm aluminium

now my problem atm is that the motor i have in it doesnt have enough tourque and gets way too hot so i need to switch to a longer motor, can someone advise me as to a what i should be using for my setup but i only have enough cash to go upto a feiago 540L and i was thinking around the 3500Kv mark but i will take any advice as it comes
My budget on boats depends on how much money the wife dosent know i have

there really is not enough room to put a 4 cell battery inside this hull and i would honestly prefer to keep on running my 7.4V batteries as i can pretty much adapt them to most boats that i have and my budget (wife) is seriously only letting me change the motor atm.

but thank you for your comments

I just need a motor recommendation

Not much will help if you have to keep running 2s, remember watts = volts x amps. Your voltage is fixed to 2s, so if you want more torque you have to add more amps, which will create heat.
The C rating of the batteries had better be way up there with top notch cells as well.
Most 2s boats are much much smaller than your rigger, because of the amp draw challenge.

Can you do some more mods on the boat, like a new canopy or something to be able to use 2 of your 2s batteries in series then replace the just motor?
Nothing a bit of creativity and even more rebuilding can't fix, looks like you've got a pretty good handle on the skills required.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Physically i can put 2 of my 2cell batteries in there to be able to push it to 4 cell but i was led to believe that if this was done that the cells would have to be ballanced and charged in series.

Was i led down the wrong path ???

if i have been then yes i could run the boat on 4 cells

and the cells i run are the Zippy 40c series 5000mah so they can handle 200 AMP discharge and they were still very cool to touch after i run them on my 5070kv motor today which has a 90 amp current draw. the only part of my boat that was excessivly hot was the motor, The esc was cold as well. so in my thaughts the motor was the weakest link, and it has been in many boats and in my shed for the past 4 years.

                              Cheers

You don't do anything special when charging the batteries if you run two packs in series, just charge/balance the individual packs like normal.

You *can* charge/balance them in series so that you can charge them at the same time, but you definitely don't have to do that at all.

As for 90mph, the video looks more like low 60's to me, definitely not 90mph.
Light travels faster than sound, so people may appear to be bright until you hear them speak.
